All signs point to Steam Summer Sale launching tomorrow

Another sure sign is Killing Floor. They ALWAYS have a big promotion a week or so before the seasonal Steam sales start.

Ag no, here we go again. Thankfully after so many Steam sales I have learned to stop buying "cuz it's cheap!".

This year, I have actually bought very few games, just so that I can buy them on the summer sale, so I am expecting to spend a bit :D

I've learned to stop buying because I already have everything.

Yeh I'm watching you bru! :P

Before we know it, that steam account net worth will be standing at $15 000 :P.

I hope CoH2 will be on sale tho, on a more serious note. And I'm looking to pick up Borderlands 2 for a cheapie as well.

And I was clever enough to add $5 a month for the past few months. So I have a bit to spend if I see anything I want

I need to know what is good to get. Need to get more into gaming as the kids are growing up and they love gaming! Son loves GTA IV, but we don't want him playing that yet as he is only 8!

Your suggestions would be most welcome!

Thanks

Awesome! now to grow my ever growing list of games I haven't got to play yet, but bought on sale! Honestly I wonder if there is anything that's going to go on sale that I want that I don't have already.

I would say Trine 2. Honestly I don't know much about what an 8 year old likes, but I played a bit and the style of graphics is amazing. The theme is kind of a childrens fairy tale. Its a side scroller puzzle game, with 3 player co-op I believe (The puzzles aren't hard, but you might need to help). It has some fighting in it, but no more than I assume he would see watching cartoons. I've started looking out for games for young people, since I want to get my niece and nephew into games when they get older.

Need for Speed hot pursuit is currently on sale.
There are races where you need to outrun the police, but without the shooting and running over people that GTA offers.
It's Grand and it involves auto-mobiles, just without the theft :)

Also look at sports titles, they are usually quite fun as well.

Yeah, same here. I have some things that I want, but I doubt they'll go on special already.
- Larry Reloaded
- Deadpool
- Mortal Kombat
- StarDrive
- Loadout beta
- Will try Deponia (I've heard things about this game... good I think)
I might consider Inversion and Dishonoured if I get it REALLY cheap, but the fact that Dishonoured is First Person, makes the chances big that I won't like it so it will have to be almost free for me to get it.

Can't really think of anything else.

We didn't even get all through way through Borderlands.

I suppose with the exchange that was 'smart'. :p

***Edit
Looks like one book is out of print (The Road to Mecca) and another is impossible to source locally I am saved - somewhat. Damn suppliers have stock still Q_Q

And the whole HL stuff being on sale. R100 for HL Complete is actually not bad...

Same...I've got so many AAA titles untouched its not even funny.

Still eyeballing a couple of games though...
Anno
Tombraider
Farcry 3 + the addon thing

On though whole though the prices will have to be good. I can easily wait another year.

My defense against the sale is ready - I am officially broke.
This problem is easily solved once you start working. With a bit of discipline you can build up a bit of a buffer easily - then when you're low on cash you just shuffle some money around & try to keep expenses to a minimum for the rest of the month.
