All Things Forza

You better be prepared tonight bro, I'm bringing the thunder!

So tonight I donned my best rain coat, put the beer back into the fridge and prepared myself for the thunder....all I got was a really loud fart, which startled me so much that I dropped ANOTHER 3 seconds off my time...

lol I'm glad that your signature got changed because you kick ass in Forza.

I changed car and am doing a little better now but still well off your time. I managed to get close again but it included a bit where I went into a wall so it was dirty. Will get there eventually. Hopefully. :)

This is what the leaderboard looked like before I stopped last night. I think DieGrootHammer continued after that though:

Interesting. I've always used simulation with controller. I will give normal a go and see how it goes.

I'll try and explain it best I can.

Normal
This will mean that when you have your LS (Left Stick) at 0' in the center so would the steering wheel be at dead center. If you lock 90' right and then move your stick to lock 90' left, the steering wheel does not need to return to 0' in order to start turning left.

Simulation
This would mean than when at full tilt to the right, in order to start steering left the steering wheel would first need to get to 0' rotation and start turning to the left before any movement can be made. This mimics a real life situation and as such is more responsive when using a wheel over a controller.

I hope you understand what I am trying to say here :p

Thanks very much for this info. It explains quite well and ties in with my own observations after putting in some laps with the setting on normal.

It made the response to my inputs much less twitchy and the result felt like I had activated STM.

Just a pity it's not official :p

Will try get online again tonight via 3G/GPRS.

It's damn close, and I'm not sure if I'm capable of going faster. Will really give it a go, but I'm closing on my skill cap.

So, I've been driving with Simulation steering on since Forza 2. I've never tried with Normal, but the explanation makes a lot of sense. Will try racing on normal as well and see what the difference is.

Do you guys enjoy just us doing this or should I invite people from MyBroadband to join us?

The advantage will be a bigger leaderboard and more activity here. The disadvantage, that some jerks may join or that it becomes difficult to see if people are following the rules.

Personally I prefer the closeness of us and the trust factor. Someone can set a "rule" or something and not have to worry about the others sticking to it. Or at least that's how I feel. I also like the competitiveness of it, but more so because it's "friends", now introduce a bunch of randoms and my willingness to stay competitive falls away and I focus back on just playing with myself and competing against my own times.

That's just my opinion.

Good answer. Will keep it just between us then and any future MyGaming people who see it. I've got some friends here at MyGaming who also play Forza 6 but they haven't been here in so long that they haven't noticed this challenge that we have. Not going to let them know though. Maybe one day they will discover it by themselves.

I just don't like people. Haha. So I'm happy with just MyGaming people. My problem again is that at least once every 2 weeks I get a pm from people who want to buy my gamertag.
