All Things Forza

Does everyone have the Team Forza cars? or was that a pre-order incentive?

I have them as well as part of the pre-order bonus, but let's rather not make the challenges DLC exclusive. Maybe there is someone without these cars so that would make the challenge very difficult without shelling out cash.

I agree. Also we are using the friends list to see who got the best time and it may be that someone already set a best time with a different kind of car. It's disappointing that you can't sort by class and my division with friends. I hope that made sense.

I got those green cars (10 year anniversary) , but as mentioned, it is a bit of a catch 22 if you already set a record time with a different car on a specific track. The rivals/leaderboards simply won't be as useful and interesting . It's the same argument i had earlier about car setups and car restrictions when the leaderboards don't have those restrictions, making it somewhat of a nuisance if you actually want to try to be in the top 10 of Africa on the leaderboards (and forced to drive an inferior car).

The car restrictions only really work when we are all driving against each other for position. When it's a time-attack , it gets tricky.

I think the best way to restrict is maybe to check the Top 50 Times in the world on the leaderboards, and restrict us to a specific subset of those cars. Then at least we know we -should- be able to be decently competitive on the leaderboards.

I hear you and completely understand. Personally I have no interest in competing with the world. I like to compete with friends and this is (at least I thought) the whole point of these challenges.

My understanding of these challenges is purely for in house (i.e. MyGaming friends/players). I never thought of us as competing to get everyone to take over the top of the African score boards.

Problem is, Forza Horizons 2 had the concept of "Clans" and you could compete nicely within your clan , and leaderboards could be filtered by clan. For some reason this is not in Forza 6. So all we have is Region | World | Xbox Live Friends .

If we had clans , all of this would make perfect sense. I don't really care that much about region/world either , but it does make things alot easier to manage, since the alternative is to constantly post screenshots.

Simply put, i don't want to constantly take screenshots after every lap for in case it is my best time and having to post it here, when the leaderboards can be used quite effectively. We can clearly see there's not alot of players in Africa, so the AFrican leaderboards is almost like our little playground at this point.

We aren't. It's just a nice byproduct. What diabolus is saying is that for us to easily track our times against each other we make use of the leaderboards. And that if you do want to restrict us to a specific car or set of cars then it makes sense to pick ones that do well globally because they are proven to do well on the track. Hence beating any existing records that we may have set with a specific class on a specific track.

*edit*
Ugh he beat me to it. Posting while I type. So sneaky like that. :p

As you say, we are competing against each other. The fact that we are rather quick and able to compete against the rest of Africa and the world is awesome, but a by-product of this challenge. The whole point is that it will be difficult to track the lap times using the leaderboards should we be restricted to a specific car that's slower than a time we've already done on that track. It will make is more difficult to post our progress on here. The leaderboards is a handy and nice way of making sure we can track how we do.

We should still be able to do it though. It will require that you take a screenshot of your lap time after completing the run. That way, if your time just isn't quick enough to feature on the boards, you can still log a time here. I'll make sure I keep tabs on all the times and post our own in-house leaderboard at the end of the week.

Aaah okay, I now understand a bit better. But surely we can just take a single persons screenshot (i.e DieGrootHammer) at the end of the week of his Friends Leaderboard which will by means include all of us. We can also all see this board.

Ok, sorry, I understand now what you two are now talking about. Sorry, my bad.

Yes but the problem comes in that records are set with different type of cars. So lets say I set a record while driving in the campaign mode with a different car to the cars that you picked. Then my time will show with the other kind of car.

I was beaten to it again. Eish.

No problem at all.

That can work. I do have everyone in the challenge on my friend list, and the leaderboards usually only show your times. I'm more than happy to do this. Give us your challenge and lets see if we already have lap time on that track. If we do not, it should be a doddle to track. I know broheim14 has pretty much competed on every track it seems, what with his incredibly high level. But still, let's see if it can work. If it doesn't, that's fine. Next week's challenger will know then what to do and what not to do.

This is for fun, and should be dealt with in that manner I think.

Problem is our relevant times won't be on there if there was a car restriction in place.

Simple example:
You tell us to do Silverstone in Mini-Coopers , but we all have our best times in Dodge Vipers.

If you open the Friends / Regional leaderboards for the track, guess which times you are going to see, the Dodge Viper times.

Unless there is a filter that will only display the best time you made within a specific week...i don't quite see how it will work without having to take screenshots during the actual race.

But regardless of having already set a time on the track, you can't use that time for the challenge set. This is just my opinion.

Yes I'm sorry for the misunderstanding.

And yea, we have another issue of someone setting a best time on a circuit in September , but is unable to beat during the "challenge week" ...it is then debatable whether it counts.

Fortunately i think we can see when a time was set . So at some point people will probably have to post screenshots to prove their times.....

I think the only thing holding us all back is how to manage all this conveniently, without posting here constantly.

Ok, the challenge will be as follows:

Cars are to be stock standard. No additions or modifications, though tuning is allowed where available.
No assists allowed. Clean lap preferred.
ABS off
TCS off
STM off
Racing Line (I would prefer this off but I have no way of seeing if this is on/off)
Manual or Automatic gearing
Damage & Tyre wear - at your discretion
Rewind off for obvious reasons.

Vehicle options are as follows:
2008 Lancer Evolution X GSR C 492
2006 Lancer Evolution IX MR C 439
2004 Lancer Evolution VIII MR C 495
1999 Lancer Evolution VI GSR C 490

Track is the following:
Germany, Nordschleife, Sunny
