AMD anticipates long overdue profit in 2010

Good news that AMD is slowly crunching back that debt. Although I'm not an AMD fan it's always good to have competition.

ATI going to steal away the holiday season? More than likely (First time ever, I've actually bought an ATI, waiting on shipping now)

just starting building an athlon 2 x4 system for a friend, all the components worked out less than R2700 if that was an intel based system the a similiar quad core cpu alone would have been close to 2 grand

I look at it this way. if you want raw bank breaking power go intel. if you want a sane but reasonably powerful bang for buck system, go amd. simple as that :D

There have been many a long evil gaze sent my way upon mentioning the name AMD over the past few years. I think the bad taste left in customers mouths all came from the AMD Kx and Athlon days.

I am going to be doing a midrange upgrade in the next 3 months or so and for the first time I am myself considering AMD as an upgrade path... but lets see if that happens hey :)

I would never consider myself a fan boy towards any technology, developer or anything else of that sort. Bring me a good product and you got a deal.

That said, making a mistake is also going to set any company a few decent steps back that will take time to recover from. Fiat Uno licensed to Nissan in 1995? They messed up considerably with gearbox production which left a bad taste for many years on the Fiat brand name. It is good to know people are turning away from AMD's past mistakes and judging their products for what they currently are.

We shall see what I choose upgrade day... exciting. :)
