AMD Bulldozer FX 8150 chip benchmarked (MyGaming)

I see that Landmark PC is listing the 8150 at around R2700.
I'm pretty sure you get a non-K i7 2600 for less than that.

The 8150 is competition for the 2500K but only beats it in some benchmarks and is more expensive.:(
Was really hoping to upgrade to AMD but guess I'll stick to Intel.

Sigh. Still a pity. But I don't see the need for more than 4 cores at the moment. Unless you want to encode 2 files at once and fry the thing. For now, I'm happy with my i5. Maybe next time AMD ^_^

Well that was disappointing. I felt tempted to upgrade to AMD for some reason but then the feeling passed. Intel is still ftw

its good to see AMD catching Intel on top end but still they need to improve and be better than current gen Intel's

Also seeing as the top spec FX8150 can be bought for R2300 its a bargain compared to the much more expensive i7 2600k which comes in at R600 more. Also in multi threaded applications, the FX8150 eats anything Intel has in their current line up.

Not so fail hey..

Yeh, it isn't that it keeps up in heavily threaded it is that it fails so bad in everything else... I can see that it does well with some apps but the amount it falls behind the 2500K in most other games/apps is the problem.

Also, Hardocp are boss :D

Edit:

the problem i see with Hardocp's test is that they kept to games that can make use of it and also only 1900x1200 resolutions. Most screens aren't at this resolution.

These results were mirrored on other sites with good high res performance but poor low res performance relative to the 2500K
