AMD today announced the AMD Gaming Evolved App powered by Raptr that gives out points and prizes for using AMD Radeon and AMD APU-based hardware. Not only that but the AMD Gaming Evolved dashboard also rewards points to users for updating their drivers, optimizing their game settings and live streaming their gameplay. The points that you earn can be exchanged for rewards ranging from free games to Astro gaming headsets, GameFly subscriptions, and last but not least to Sapphire R9 Series video cards.

SUNNYVALE, Calif. — Feb. 19, 2014 — AMD today announced the AMD Rewards program powered by Raptr, giving AMD Radeon graphics and AMD APU-based PC gamers the chance to redeem points earned within the AMD Gaming Evolved application for prizes.

“We are thankful for the millions of gamers that support the AMD Radeon brand by using the AMD Gaming Evolved application Powered by Raptr,” said Darren McPhee, director, Graphics Marketing, AMD. “The AMD Rewards program is our way of thanking our loyal customers and giving back to the community that has given so much to us.”

The AMD Gaming Evolved App helps gamers get the best experience every time they play by recommending optimal game settings tailored to their rig; keeping their drivers up to date; and through a diverse set of in-game tools like chat, web-browsing, live-streaming, and through the new AMD Rewards loyalty program. Players can earn points by using the app to play their favorite games, optimize setting for those games, or engage with the community. Those points can be redeemed for AMD Rewards in the Raptr store.

At launch, gamers will be able to redeem points for prizes, such as: Sapphire Technology Radeon R9 Series graphics cards, and tons of free games, ASTRO gaming headsets, GameFly subscriptions, GUNNAR gaming eyewear, discounts and more. AMD Rewards Program is an extension to the broader Raptr Rewards program, which has already given out millions of dollars’ worth of rewards.

“We see AMD Rewards as a natural extension of what Raptr Rewards does for gamers,” Dennis Fong, Raptr’s CEO, explained. “It’s really great to be able to reward players for all the time and effort they’ve invested in playing games.”

Pretty awesome stuff this, love the idea of rewards for just using AMD hardware :D
Rewards include some games and discount on games and hardware.
 
I wonder how long it'll take Nvidia to launch something similar?

Well, now I'm definitely picking up a R9 card on my next upgrade.

The Asus and MSI cards look so good :love:
 
If that's your points.......................14K wth have you been doing :p but i think this is a good idea maybe by the end of the year i can have me another R9 270 :D
 
Awesome, I had seen something about AMD and Raptr partnering but hadn't seen any more info about it. Quick question, does this intergrate with Raptr or replace it?

I won't lie, it does look like a very obvious rip off of the GeForce Experience App. A very obvious one :p

Personally I don't care, it works well and if it has nVidia fight back with rewards, then I'm all for competition :D
 
So, how long would it take somebody to accumulate the 80,000 point required for a R9 270?
Or even the 5,000 points for Dirt 3?
 
They're quite clever with the rewards system. You can eventually save up enough points to get a graphics card (80 000 for an R9 270) but far more tempting is the possibility of winning a gfx card or game in the relatively cheap sweepstakes. In other words, they'll get many spending their points on a chance at getting something awesome and therefore fewer will save up for the guaranteed items.

Currently I have 2400 points - got quite a few from already being registered on Raptr.
 
They should reward/compensate people for using their hardware. I've had nothing but problems using AMD cards. Switching back to nVidia and sticking with it from now on.

What problems have you been having with AMD cards? My last experience with AMD was with the Radeon R200 which was horrible, after that I switched to nVidia and I have not looked back.

I've also had major issues with ATi cards in the past and stick to nvidia because of that. I'm sure they've improved vastly over the years, but if you don't buy lots of hardware regularly to try out new stuff, that kind of thing is always stuck somewhere in the back of your mind: "What if it's still like I remember?"
 
What annoyed me the most (and again it was the old R200 based chips) was that everything looked incredibly blurry all the time
 
Never had an issue with an ATI card and i have racked up 3100 points in 4 months and that's mostly with dota 2 bf4 and Darksiders 2 haven't played my other games yet so guess i'll get more once i start playing them
