AMD FX pricing

It looks as though the price of the FX6100 may have been leaked

I wonder how accurate that is , and how much more it will cost in SA once it gets here.

The price is accurate and this makes me sad..that translates to roughly R1520..which means it'll cost around R1800 and if that is the case then you can expect the top model to be around R2500-R3000 and honestly...That is alot..Same as a 2600k and I doubt it would beat it....but meh..Im still buying the top spec model, not bothered about the price but its a little bit higher than what I expected.

That would put it in a similar price bracket to a Core i5 2500. The question is, will it outperform the Intel chip, or will my next CPU be Sandy Bridge?

This is like the battlefield beta :)

You kinda have to wait for some solid information on the final before deciding.

No worries. That gives us plenty of time to dissect reviews and analyse benchmarks. Real-world gaming benchmarks, of course. ;-)

You guys will have to wait for Wednesday to get all the details in the new FX series of processors (there will be a writeup on Mygaming) but in the meantime this shiny belt buckle can tide you over:

ok so the performance isn't what i expected that much but in gaming tests it trades blows with 2500 and 2600 sandy's in alot of tests but it seems dependent on who is testing.

and that's good enough for me. gaming performance is what i am after, now i need local pricing and release details...

so yes going by price/performance ratio, yes amd wins me over again.

i was on the verge of just ordering a 1090t or 1100t today but the majority of reviews have won me over :)

What reviews were you reading? All of the ones that I read had BD beat by older AMD and Intel CPUs, except in heavily multi threaded scenarios. And it uses more power than Phenom II without delivering any benefits really. I'm not touching BD with a barge pole, its a disaster.
