AMD PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720 will earn $ 238 million - this year alone

PlayStation 4 has been presented, and we will soon know the new Xbox 720th Both platforms will most likely debut in the last quarter of this year and probably very quickly bring big profits. Not only for Sony and Microsoft, but also AMD.

It is the company from Sunnyvale to provide the most vital components for both devices, and it seems that a lot of this money goes to. Interestingly, another opinion is Nvidia, which said recently that production of the SoC for Sony's PlayStation 4 was unprofitable. It is interesting, however, is whether it actually came from the analysis of the company, or whether they are merely words to sweeten the fact of losing the competition with AMD.

AMD are on the right track now.
They owned Nvidia with the latest 7xxx cards. They got the contracts for all the major consoles.
Now Steam Roller needs to put a dent into intel and their comeback will be complete.

These are all good things for us by the way, healthy competition drives down prices :)

Sho, if its true, Nvidia really did drop the ball here. Surely it can't be this clear cut, $288 mil...wow

Now we need some competition for Eskom and Telkom......

Lower prices is awesome if you don't have to pay the two above :P

Well if you think about it like I have, I reckon these consoles are gonna out sell even the previous gen consoles within the 1st 3 years.
I also think there will be a stock shortages of the next gen consoles in the 1st weeks they go on sale, They will sell incredibly well.

Ja, I also think they'll sell very well considering the uptake of gaming, and console gaming. The first indicative preorder price for the PS4 was something like 360GBP wasn't it? Thats actually pretty reasonable these days.

Its just scary to think Nvidia wouldn't put up more of a fight, this isn't a small contract and they're not a small company, they must've stuffed something up with their bid - thats if they even bid at all?

Isn't nvidia more into the smartphone and tablet thing now anyway?

Nvidia said it wouldn't be profitable for them...They were very very wrong.

They are indeed, but so is AMD.
