Nah guys, we are going to be paying approximately R2500 more than overseas. I would research importing it yourself. R2.5 just for importing and shipping??? Someone is ripping us off.

Defs dude, If I do buy this I think I might do just that. I might even just wait till later in the year to buy even. Not that much in a rush. As long as I have it by the time BF3 comes out :D
 
I'm considering getting a 2nd 5870 for xfire. Any suggestions as to who has some nice cheap ones? I've seen R3100 for a XFX so far, but wanna go cheaper.

It should go down a bit more once other cards come out? You don't need to upgrade yet do you? I also have a 5870.
 
Mangaed to pick myself up a 6970 2GB for R3500 from PCInt last week, so I won't at all be bothered by this.
 
Thing is, currently, 5870 still kicks serious ass, even gives the 6970 a serious run for its money. I just want to buy some future protection. BF3 i reckon is going to be a bit hard on hardware, considering the map sizes and drawing distance etc.
 
Another practical reason to rather get this card than 2 cards is that 2 cards takes up too much space..Especially with the Coolermaster cases where the power supply is at the bottom, and I have a V8 Cooler on my CPU too so that takes up a friggin' large space too. I sukkeled my ass off to get my card in already as it is.
 
Busy installing this baby right now, man it is big. Almost too long for my case (Coolermaster Sniper).

Will bench tonight and have review up tomorrow :)

Hey Tinman, is there anyway you can post some pics of it too, like in your case? Just so we can see how big it really is and see if it will fit in our cases etc? That would be much appreciated!

I hope that you manage to pinch your thumb behind the card and then during your spasms of pain, knock over a glass of water, spilling it all over the PC, electrocuting yourself.

How were the benches?
