AMD Radeon HD7970 Benchmarks

I also checked pricing, as usual we get ripped off by Greedy suppliers and retailers.
The stock being limited is also a bull story, as AMD announced there is more than enough stock available.
The cards retail for between $545 and $660 for top spec atomic edition. Where the local guys get pricing of between R7000 and R10 000 God only knows.

Best bet would be to not by a card, wait for 3 weeks or so and force the suppliers to drop their prices.
 
Should also add AMD announced a suggested retail price cut, Stating that the cards should retail for $480.
I doubt any retailers or suppliers will do that though.
 
Jip don't think they will do that, In SA everyone wants to buy a Ferrari on their first sale, hence the markups, look at motorcars for example.....

Yip, I would hold back, its just a matter of time before prices drop to an acceptable level.
 
I will also wait and see what happens. As it stands, if I sell my current setup, I'll be able to buy one, and that's just not worth it right now.

I think the wait will do it some good. Normally judging on a R10 to the dollar gets you more or less the price with SA and its fees, buts thats a rip and its the "cheaper" brand
