Americas Army Offiicial Thread

Flex

Will lift for boobs!
Okay Okay, so I could not find one. So I took it upon myself to create an official AA Thread.

I have been playing AA for years, not as long as CS though, but been playing AA since early Alpha days.
And with AA3 just having ended their Beta and releasing the full game for FREE, we have to the the community growing as it is an amazing game. It is a different kind of FPS game, very tactical and difficult!
My Nickname is same as usual, Flex. My Weapon of choice is the M4, mostly on single Shot. Almost have my Desert Camo for the M4 +- 1000 Kills later with just that gun

Hasn't the AA3 beta been going on for years? i played that game at least 3-5 years ago.. unless i'm thinking about AA2

AA3 has been in Alpha/Beta since 2009 as far as I know yes. Came out of Beta a week or 2 ago only. LOTS AND LOTS of improvements were made from Beta to where it is now

If you say its very tactical and difficult, does that mean its a bit trickier to get into when playing solo? I've always associated AA with (the originals) Operation Flashpoint style combat, which I can imagine is just plain brutal if you aren't working in a decent squad of mates.

Or is it more like battlefiend style, in terms of fun with mates, but you can get by doing your own thing.

A bit of Both. You do require a Mic definitely do call enemies and so on to your team mates. I only recently got invited to a clan in AA3, after not playing for a team since AA2. So been playing Solo ever since then. There are about 4 local server at the moment, with 2 server been quite full during the evening with active and new members. It is much more difficult than CSGO in the sense of Strategy and realism, they can't really be compared though as they are 2 totally different games with different feels. BF on the other hand has always felt like a bit of a wild card for me. A fun game, but too much Spray and Pray for my liking. So come join us some time, its free! :)

Flex you say my name but throw a mention at me.. Sies!

also, mottamort and the game (AA:Proving Grounds) is very easy to pick up and play. I think AA3 has a little more of tutorial that is required since i think there is first aid and a few other complex thing or at least there were when i played the game when it was probably still in alpha:wtf:

Ahhh yeah sorry I forgot that AA Proving Grounds is not AA3! Sorry! Yeah AA3 and the previous ones you actually had to write exams and take practical tests to use certain Weapons, and to be able to be a medic for example. Wish they had that in AA Proving Grounds! Not to mention the mention coming at Keepa34

Not too bad hey. Will just take a while to learn the maps and the favourite spots and have a little while to go with the mechanics, but gameplay was decent. Just wish teammates would care to revive :p
