Amnesia: Dark Descent

Howzit guys,

So I would like to know, from guys who played the game, if this game is worth getting? Now I am... umm... "sensitive" :p when it comes to horror games, and games like F.E.A.R, Jericho etc... did not leave me feeling "safe" for a few days after playing them :o! But anyway I played the demo to Amnesia and I must say, I never found it scary... If anything it was frustrating as I didn't know where to go :p!!! Is this game really scary? Could I play it till the end?
 
I think any person can play a scary game till the end, they just need the right amount of clean undies ! :D

Amnesia is scary because you are completely dis-empowered and have no means of fighting back. I'm not sure how far in the demo takes you, but I found it to be quite an innervating experience.

I never did, odd... I'll read it now!
The demo had you wake up in a castle during daylight and then had to get to a wine cellar where it was completely dark, but I got stuck there as I didn't know where to go :p!

Like I said I played the demo and encountered one creature but that wasn't scary... But then like I said the rest of the game might just be overboard!! Damn I want to play it now, but am too scared to :p!! Especially since it's only $10 on Steam...
 
Excellent game, terrifying describes it best.

2. Lights off (all of them)
3. Headphones

Bwahahahahahaha!! I just read the first line and where it said "psychological horror" I knew this game would have me in tears!! Give me monsters any day, but that psychological shit freaking fucks me up!

We like getting scared I guess ? But it there ever was, like Blackhand describes, a home alone lights off game, this is it.
The fact that you're helpless makes it even worse - and you will sort of sit there and realize that you haven't taken a proper breath for the last 10 minutes. It's really unnerving.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, go buy it :D

For the first time since F.E.A.R I have just bought myself a scary game :D!! I just bought Amnesia! Gonna d/l it next Thursday and jam it that weekend :D!!

I hope to God I will only need a change of underwear and not a mop and bucket :o!!!

Haha, I don't know what it is about Amnesia, but that atmosphere just creeps into you.

100%. The atmosphere in Amnesia is very overwhelming. Nothing can be happening but you still feel oppressed which makes moving forward in the game very challenging. Very few games evoke such powerful, very real emotions.

@Duke, try not to watch too much footage of the game. Amnesia is one of those games that's very easily spoiled. Play it to its fullest, if you don't you'll regret it afterwards.
