A Durban restaurant owner claims two ANCYL members held two parties they said were official engagements and left without paying the R83,000 bill, the Sunday Independent reported.

A restaurant director from the Velvet Lounge in Durban, who asked not to be named, told the newspaper that Emmanuel Bongumasa Gumede and Themba Dlomo had approached him, asking him to host two parties for the ANC Youth League on April 5 and 6.

I'm not surprised when the ANC are running around messing things up of course the juniors are gonna follow the lead.
 
To be honest, this guy is a bit of an idiot if he let the guy get away with the first tab while only paying 8k... I think he saw dollar signs and got burnt...

exactly! thats what i thought. he should have asked for deposit upfront

Deposit's don't always work. I organised a social for the trainees here in PTA and we set up a R9000 bar tab and bought food at another R7000. Our deposit was only R1500 which isn't even 10% of our final bill for the night. I would also happily walk out on a tab if I was an ass and payed a R1500.

hehe :D nah dude, Spur is too "low class" for the likes of the ANCYL. only the very best will do! they have learnt this valuable lesson from their "Number 1"
