Android tablets

I second the Nexus idea: whatever is lacking software-wise gets added by some guy banging out a ROM at home. The only drawback is the lack of storage, and secondary storage on them. Unfortunately tablets are still a lot of money for something that is quickly obsolete.

What do you mean that they become obsolete quickly? Do you mean outdated but still usable?

I currently have a htc desire which i rooted and installed a custom ROM my self. So I want to opt for something root friendly and the vodafone smart tab 10 and the acer iconia A501 are the only options available on my contract upgrade. So I would like to know which would be better if a want to play game like NOVA and Modern combat. The acer has tergra 2 and vodafone adreno 220 gpu.

Hmmm, the Tegra 2 has got the drawback of being without NEON instructions, so the CPU is a lot less powerful. I would suggest you check out some of the GLBenchmark results to see the differences between them. NOVA and Modern Combat are not Tegra-optimized in the first place, unlike things like Dead Trigger and Shadowgun.

Most benchmarks are indicating that the adreno 220 is better for gaming but can it be rooted and can i install a custom ROM on it. Does any one experience with the vodafone smart tab.
