Hi guys,
Care to share yer doodles ?
---------------------------------------
A post apocalyptic moon he used to call it.
The massive satellite hung above the blue-green planet with a certain man made finesse which shaped the marvel of technology into that of a perpetual half-moon.
The irony of the satellite’s shape is off course lost on those dwelling the planet below, for the original moon was destroyed generations ago in the great commodity wars of the late 20th century. Not much is now known about that dark age before the bio-net was born and perpetuated perhaps the grandest of historical technological advances. It solved the energy crisis in mere months and in so doing accelerated other technologies enabling the human race to travel vast distances and even bend space time.
“Three hundred years ago today†she thought.
“He died†she softly spoke these words which were heavy with pain and doubt.
Adam reclined across from his sister Anna in the public shuttle as it slid effortlessly through the vacuum of space. His voice was even as he replied but envy was always around the emotional corner when they speak of one of the saviors of the human race – and his grandfather.
“They all did Annaâ€
Anna has dug up what she could find on human history through her life and was greatly amused when as a child sitting on her grandfather’s lap, she enjoyed mythical tales of currency and separate nations. She accessed some old data on her beloved grandfather through the microscopic bio-tech implant all infants are inoculated with at birth, displaying the data through a holographic image straight to the retina.
“Then why were we born to immortality?â€
Of course even as the thought entered her mind the bio-tech hive regurgitated information
on the process of human salvation to be displayed at her will.
*sigh* it’s that time again isn’t it?†Adam replied as one might who is about to indulge the naivety of a child.
“You remember quite clearly what happened last time don’t you?†the words were coated in cynicism.
“I didn’t mean to…..I didn’t know!!†she pleaded with herself and almost subconsciously put in another appeal request through the Hive’s judiciary tree on behalf of her friends who were now confined on some remote plain with no chance of escape.
“I saw thatâ€
“Off course you did! What’s your point? “
“You use your biotech administration implant way too recklesslyâ€
“Did you know dear brother, that the original hundred were made up solely of military and scientific personnel? Under a single leader?â€
Those things are as irrelevant now as they were imperative then.
The buzzing noise of signal overload now threatened every passenger on the craft. Bio-tech’s hive judiciary tree was already scanning all passengers for any knowledge of information contraband. Anna and her brother Adam were quickly cleared, but an infant and it’s mother who were within earshot of the conversation were restrained where they sat into the mindless oblivion the Hive seemed to prefer potential candidates for expulsion from this reality.
Anna stared at the horrific scene with a blank expression.
“As freely as all commodities are now being supplied, they are still……being supplied†her grandfathers death rattle rose from her memory along with the bile in her own throat.
She opened up all channels, feeds and matrices and with the wrath of the mythical gods of a forgotten era commanded an entire perceptual reality to obey.
STOP
And to Anna’s great surprise it did.
The shuttle, the space station and even the very vacuum of space seemed to…..stop.
And then there was nothing.
Nothing at all.
