Antec, seasonic, multi or single rail. [confused]

I looked, but couldn't find my psuses thread.

So my corsair 650tx poped last night for real. When I plugged my power back in it made a pop sound, this stopped but returned a few days ago and on the third pop it popped :(.

Now I want a new decent power supply and I'm not sure whether to go multi or single rail, Antec or Seasonic

Budget is about R1500 and I'm looking for something at least in the region of 700watt (well I think so).

Another question I have is whether or not I should drop the APC Line 1200 and just go with 1000 something ups?

Cheers and thanks.

No there is not cake at the end of this post "whistling:

For the money this is the one you want.

Unfortunately stock is limited on them.

I have the X660 version and it is a utterly brilliant psu, powering my monster no problem.

A little bit over budget but also an absolute beast of a psu

Friend of mine running 3 7970's and a heavily overclocked 3930K on his and its going strong.
Tough as nails psu's.

Those are the ones I would personally look at, I feel corsair psu's are good quality but way to over priced for what they offer.

Personally I don't believe in using a UPS, Its a long complicated story but I've had many guys running ups's only to have something go wrong with the ups running at the time.

Wow, that Seasonic is nice... and I knew about the Corsair one when I bought my AX750, I may have changed my mind :)

stay faaaar away from antec, they use cheap ass capacitors in their psu's im using an antec 500w modular psu and only after i replaced all the capacitors after i had an incident with better branded ones, did it start working better.

Mate lol I have only ever used Antec, Corsair and Seasonic and 1 or 2 XFX psu's and out of the lot I only had failures with corsair, Some of my old Antec (5 years old) are still running to this day without fault.

What Antec PSU are you running?

I might be selling my X660 soon, Got a AX1200i sitting here that I think I'll be using.

I'll work something out in Jan as I'm waiting for the December pricing madness to cool it a bit.

Besides... its x-mas and December spending time :)
