Any Board Game Geeks?

I know Battle Bunker does MTG and tabletop, but do reckon they would allow people to come in and start up a board game demo?
Sounds like fun.

Well I know that the Bunker in somerset has held evenings with boardgames also tried to get a dnd night going. as for the other Bunkers best to go in see owner and ask :)

Kharrak, I would loved to try out Arkham Horror and MoM.
I considered getting the game a while back, but the play time kinda put me off. My gaming group has a low attention span, and it's no fun buying the games and then no-one plays them, epic fail. I'll have to check out Chaos in the Old World though.

Wished there was something like a public community here in CT where we could demo such things and just have fun.

Yeah, unfortunately you'll be hard pressed to find any board / card game that lasts under and hour. Most board games have a 2-3 hour play period if you know how to play. In the boardgame days we have here (just among friends, I mean), I don't think we've ever actually gotten more than four games done in a day.

Chaos in the Old World is a 3-4 (3-5 with the expansion) player game, but I'd heavily encourage you to try with four players minimum. 3 player games, while they work, don't have the amazingly fantastic balance that larger games provide.

Try look for Citadels, to test the waters with your friends. Quick and simple to understand and pick up. If they don't have the patience for that, jump ship :P

Hi guys and gals
I have a Warhammer fantasy collection and the dnd boardgame aswell as starter set. Also played the game of thrones, wow and good old risk. Id like to give settlers a go still one day also heard that paranoia is awsome. one game i am looking for is risk 2210ad.

Boardgames rock and dont think ill ever escape the hold of good old paper/cardboard. There is some clubs in ct that do board gaming usualy the guys interested in Tabletop gaming i know the Somerset west battle bunker more than happy to ask around about starting a game :)

Bugger you CT people with your boardgame places :P

http://digitalsushi.co.za/ is looking to start a monthly boardgaming get-together thing in CT, so you could look into that.

I've wanted to bring my Dust Tactics / Warfare to the wargaming clubs around joburg, but I've never known what type of reception I'd get. I've seen the of the dodgy looks Warmachine and Warhammer / Warhammer 40k people give each other :P

I somehow missed this thread. My bad. Well, here it goes!
Sup guys. Last weekend I went up to Digital Sushi to pick up my new Agricola board game. Following a giddy unwrapping phase and many hours of learning the rules, it hit me: I've become a board game geek. My cupboard is slowly developing into a box library of Spiel De Jahres nominees and old classics. At this rate, my new found love may even eclipse my PC gaming habit!
How is it? I've sold quite a few so far, and I've only heard good things. It's a title I still want to try.

Anyone else on the forums here that also share a soft spot for the good ol' cardboard variant of our favourite pastime? Hey, let's not be too fussy here; cards, dice, role-playing...anything goes.
Hands up! Whatcha got?

Yeah me too, looks like a lot of fun, but they played Munchkin Deluxe
The main difference is that Deluxe includes a board (and little figures) to track your level progress. Otherwise, it's the identical game.

Also adding Walking Dead to my wishlist
We do still have a copy in stock: http://digitalsushi.co.za/the-walki...ed-on-the-tv-series-cze-01212-scg-a-cze-01212

Kharrak has also been a great help. He was demoing Dust Warfare / Tactics for us at rAge.
