Yeah I started out playing drums when I was 12 and then wanted to do everything, I actually also play bass, but not often.

I am mostly a solo guitarist, I prefer to solo than play chords etc, but I love playing metal, mostly technical stuff.
 
Awesomeness! I also prefer playing metal, nothing tests your skills like trying to play along with As I Lay Dying or Bloodred Throne, etc.

I'm not good enough yet to play solo's so I'm more of a rhythm guitarist, but I'm improving every day.

Have yot guys heard the Graveworm cover of this song. If not, check it out, brilliant cover, the intro is done amazingly with violins. Just beware once the vocals enter it's get hardcore, but it is awesome!

Ok, so I recently got into the heavy/death metal listening place. I always liked rock, never hip-hop or shit like that. I currently have TBDM, Nile, Cannibal corpse, and crytopsy on my playlist. I am looking for some more albums. I really like TBDM, dunno why, their instrumentals are amazing. Do you guys know of any other band with a similar sound?

TBDM as in The Black Dahlia Murder? Try Kalmah, As I Lay Dying, Bring Me the Horizon, Soul Embraced, Agothodaimon (the last two albums), Austrian Death Machine, For Today, Killswitch Engage, My Children My Bride, Parkway Drive, The Wake, With Faith or Flames.
