Anyone got Medal of Honor?

Good grief there are strong opinions concernin this game :P
If I remember correctly MoH was created on the PS3 so it will run the best on the PS3.
What to do... what to do...

Er, no, probably not. With the exception of PS3 exclusives, virtually no game is developed with the PS3 as the lead platform.

Actually, he's right. The PS3 is/was the lead platform for MoH.

PS. I didn't know that before about 2 minutes ago. :p

I got it on x360 and pc and loving both!! Finished the pc one,and just started with the xbox one,its no mw2 but its actually better for it.

Cheers

Okay this is a little off-topic but seeing as though GT5 has been pushed back a month I can now get an extra game and that can either be Medal of Honor or Star Wars: TFU2. Which should I do?
I want both at some stage.

I've finished the SP campaign now and I thought it was pretty decent, a lot better than MW2's crappy singleplayer campaign. (MW2 is crap IMO because it is the exact same game as CoD4 with different missions and an incoherent storyline.) Anyway, MoH was really fun and I'm enjoying the challenge that is Tier 1 mode. MP is still good fun, except for all the damn snipers, but apparently they are working on a patch for that.

I finished the game on PS3 and I played it a bit on the X360 at work over the weekend and it is very obvious that the PS3 was the lead platform. We are all aware of the "texture streaming issue" that the Unreal Engine has and this is a lot more evident on the X360 from I've seen. Everytime you switch between weapons (on the X360) it has to load the texture for the gun first (at least during the mission I played) - I have not noticed this on PS3, it does happen, but not everytime you switch weapons.

It's weird that it performs better on PS3 (disregarding the fact that it was the lead platform) because as far as I know the X360 is much better with the Unreal Engine than the PS3.

I must say i havent really noticed the texture issues on the 360 and weapon switching is fast and smooth and no texture issues from what I have played.About a third through on the xbox, the pc version looks much better(finished the sp on pc over the weekend)and does not suffer from any texture issues. There was one or two checkpoint errors on the pc though....

cheers

Consider me corrected. Wow, that's really, really unusual.

[EDIT] I hadn't noticed texture pop on weapon switching at all either. o_O I've definitely noticed it in the environments quite a few times, though, which is pretty much par for the course with UE3.

I dunno hey, I didn't play the whole game on X360, only one mission. During that one mission (the first one you play as the Ranger) it had to load the gun texture everytime I switched weapons, maybe it was just a glitch?

I know, especially considering the fact that the SP uses Unreal Engine.

It's kinda lulzy, actually. I Googled "medal of honor ps3 lead platform" and got a zillion hits, which kinda shows it's Big Fucking News. No idea how I missed that. It's usually just assumed (and correctly so) that the lead development is for PC or, increasingly, Xbox. And yeah, as you say, UE3 and Xbox are pretty much sleeping together. As far as I'm aware, however, UE3 was heavily modified for Medal of Honor, so perhaps its "native" platform was irrelevant here.

I got it on saturday, started playing by 5/6 ish for an hour or so and finished it on sunday morning... on hard.

Thing about MOH is had it come out before or at the same time as the Original Modern Warfare it would have been heralded as a truly epic game. It wasn't bad but everything it did has been done, several years ago. Its hard to really get into the plot, yes it was similar to Black Hawk Down but this kinda thing really happened so maybe they went with a more realistic, in terms of plot, approach and often real life doesn't make for compelling story telling.

The sadest thing about MOH is, had it been done properly with a Band of Brother or Saving Private Ryan kinda plot, it could have told a really mature, intresting story about war and the horrors there of. But like the reviews say, quiet often MOH turns into a turkey shoot. Some coding issues there is aswel, I mean nothing breaks immersion like having one of ur NPC counterparts shoot a taliban soldier and having said taliban soldier doing rag doll cartwheels through the air....

Overall not a bad game, just a one out of its time. Hopefully the chaps at Danger Close can improve up what they have done and continue the rebooted MOH serrier with more games.

I finished the Tier 1 mode yesterday, didn't really have any problem completing each level under the specified time.

So would you recommend me getting this? Or I was thinking Borderlands GOTY edition?

For R499 it doesn't really feel worth it, I havent tried the MP but for about 4-5 hours of gameplay, on hard, i would almost say Wait for pre-played. Its hard to say, it was fun but not like  fun...
