Anyone received free ADSL speed increase?

384kb here as well, and not too pleased :P. Mweb said they might review their 1mb uncapped fees, which I might then consider if it's taken down to the old 512kb line speed, but other than that Telkom can stick it.

So that's what happened to my line!! All the 512k user have stolen some of my line speed for themselves :p!!
Haha I must be the only one who has lost more than half his usual line speed :(!!

Ouch, that's bad. Have you tried making a free 1gb account with Afrihost, to compare speeds? Should do that if you haven't man.

But won't my line speed still be dependent on Telkom? I mean I am still using their line?
Or am I mistaken?

You said that you lost half your line speed, what did you really mean by that anyway? If it's a speed issue, that it's below what you should be getting, you should try Afrihost 1gb to compare it to your current speeds. If the Afrihost 1gb speeds are better than your primary ISP, the problem lies with them.

On Mweb 512 uncapped package, line included and I'm syncing at 1Mb! been like that for about two weeks now! yeah baby!

As in I pay for a 4mb line but am getting speeds around the 2mb mark :(!
I think I'm going to a 1gig cap from Afrihost and see if I don't get anything better, thanks bro!

Np. The only other thing I can really think of right now is that your house is too far from the exchange, therefore you are getting slower speeds than you should. The only solution I could then think of is downgrading your account to 1mb perhaps. Not sure though hmm. But do try the Afrihost 1gb account, and check it out
