Well you get games and then games. Deadspace 2 had additional focus on just ligthing (they had a dedicated team for just that) where as some games just have ligthing for the sake of it. Imho then Deadspace 2 is definitely a step above just being a game.

Battle Field 3 on the other and with Rage is an artwork of bugs, errors and misery. /runs for safe hills

I don't agree with his idea of art. Music is a form of art in my opinion and so are certain games. They are performing arts that's all. Not a still picture that you look at and go ok thats art.

"I'd suggest that the things we really consider art are the things that allow us to ask profound questions about who we are, how we live and the state of the world around us

By that definition alone games like Planescape and Bioshock can easily be considered art.

Of course not every form of media or expression can be considered art but many do possess the qualities it takes to qualify.

They both certainly have caused me to think a lot less of their developers, as well as reviewing the way in which I go about purchasing any future titles...

ART!

well if you think about it, artists have to create the characters, drawing and designing them over and over till the project directors are happy. so i guess its a form of art, i dont think the end product but alot of art goes into the design
