Are girl gamers sexist towards men? (MyGaming column)

Just for tonight, I wish I had been born female.
A quick Google took me to girlgamer.com, where by some fluke, I spotted the profile of someone with same neurological condition as I have. Would it be too creepy if I were to contact her?
Chris, respect for treading these very dangerous grounds. It takes someone with guts to write an article of sexism aimed at females in the gaming industry/scene, especially if that person isn't female himself.
What angers me the most is that many male gamers will blatantly argue that there isn't a sexism issue in the industry, even though Soul Caliber 4's advertising campaign and that new Tera MMO's female characters beg to differ.
I do remember the one woman I used to group with, she was a swinger and she'd tell me about her escapades while we were camping or doing a raid. Most interesting times back then.
Lol remember the huge discussion that followed after I said I wouldn't be getting soul calibur 4 for those very reasons?
@Phoenix: Go for it Brother! You have nothing too loose. Worst case she doesn't respond. I'll hold thumbs she does though.

Chris Kemp. what hast thou started?!
I have to say Chris, hats off for attempting this. As one of the few female gamers (who doesnt hide the fact), I have to say one of the main reasons for joining Mygaming was the people on here. I have been on a fair few forums where once it gets out that your female, their attitudes change.
But I also have to admit, I am maybe one of a handful of women, who prefer to play with the guys, but then again I really don't know that many female gamers. I might not be a hard core BF3 player, but I do game for the fun of it. Making friends along the way is always a bonus.
Overall it depends on my attitude - if a girl acts all flirty and silly, they wont get any respect. Respect the group of people you are gaming with and there should be no issues. If there are issues, please dear lord dont run to the first admin you see! Try to sort it out via pm or email or even skype (I have done that once). The thing to remember is we are all part of one big community of gamers, whether we all play the same thing or not.
Besides in 99% of the games there are ways of ignoring the idiots![]()
I know and that is why I like this forum. The idiots be they male or female do not last long.
Thanx Omega
Here just for you Omega!

Take a look at the comments section in Tarryn's old column on DNF - "Bitch-slapped in the face" and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about. Here's a link: http://mygaming.co.za/news/columns/10879-bitch-slapped-in-the-face.html
Oh gods, yes. Thank god people now have to login to leave comments. It would just have been interesting to know who most of those bigots were, though, seeing as they were probably mostly MyGaming forum members who are now forced to keep tabs on what they say.
On another note, for anyone thinking of making any sandwich jokes, don't. Even if it is meant in a joking sense, it's not funny for the same reason that telling a black man to get back into the cotton fields isn't funny.
Wow, just looked at the comments to Tarryn's article. Damn
