Ark: Survival Evloved players

Hi,

So I bought this game and the expansion in the Steam Winter sale and I have a few questions.
I want to play PvE BTW.

  • Should I play on the official servers? The latency sucks on the official servers but I also don't want to lose all my work for whatever reason. Which I assume is more likely to happen on unofficial servers.
  • Should I start playing on "The Island" or start playing scorched earth? Will I lose some fun raids in the original by playing the expansion straight away?
  • And then lastly, is there anyone here looking for a tribe member? :D

i used to play on a ark server.

PVE servers i am sure you can find some good RSA servers. they wont reset the server alot.

pvp servers are good but mega tribes are a issue i think because they dont like new players.

I play on single player with mods and i enjoy it alot because i set rates to what i want. I did the whole PVP servers but i dont like the whole grinding aspect atm if i would go on a PVE server i would want rates high collection rates and high taming rates

me and some friends are hosting a PVE server (we hosting a cluster of the center and Scorched earth)

Ours is local so the ping will be a lot better.
scorched earth is a lot harder than the island so i would start there rather.

if you ask around for a tribe i sure someone would invite you.

our servers name is Animaniacs.
 
ARK is absolutely addictive. I have ever around 600 hours, mostly SP and I still discover new places on the centre map weekly.

agree i have over 1000 hours play and there still stuff that i haven't done like all the caves
 
Also, led a Giga @sshole who killed 4 of my Rexes and smaller dinos and my high level Quets into some 30+ odd Megalodons last night. Hope his sole is eaten by Mega Piranhas for eternity.

its add bunch of stuff and its a lot harder to do. our linked server you can take dino's both ways so lots of guys flying around on wyverns in the center.
 
Wanted to go get some obsidian last night from Hell (Lava Island and was promptly attacked by 3 fire dragons, died and now I'm looking for my level 259 Quetsel.

After reading a lot of the negative reviews on steam from people that have been playing for more than 50 hours and that are making a big noise about how low the FPS is on their mega machines, I am going to hold off on buying this.

Many of them also saying that even though they have playable FPS that it stutters a lot, even after all this time that the game has been in early access.

Going to wait for a lot more optimization to happen.
 
That's so messed up that people are going around killing your dinos.

that put me off playing on open maps with out a password. i will just stay with playing on single player
