Assassin's Creed 4 is called Black Flag - rumours emerge

I thought they would call it Clover...

I really, really hope this is true. I've been craving a (good) pirate themed game for as long as I can remember and I know Ubisoft can deliver.

Who gives a shit if they're milking it? As long as they keep making good games while adding new stuff (and not merely re-releasing the same game) they can release one every 6 months if they want. If you don't like it then don't buy it.

lol I'm not getting into a argument with you over this :D I know you love this game with all your heart and soul.
I did send them a Email with my suggestion for a name change though :p

The last picture... That's what I'd want the camera offset to be for this title.
Center screen offsets seems so old.:)

I thoroughly enjoyed the naval combat in ACIII and I was thinking a pirate themed AC would be awesome; combining the great naval combat with interesting tropical island locations. If these rumours turn out to be true I might get my wish :D

(To tell the truth, they totally got the idea from me and the name "Edward Kenway" actually belongs to one of my ancestors...)

I don't want to argue with you either, but the AC series has some of the best writing in the industry today (maybe not so much in AC3) and Ubisoft also keeps improving the gameplay and adding more and more different things you can do in-game (also not always so successful, but at least they try). The same cannot be said for other series blamed for milking (except Blops 2, that showed some innovation and actually had half decent writing ).

I know what you mean, I just lost complete interest in the series. Maybe its just me but it got boring.
To each their own though, everyone has different taste. For instance I know we both share a deep love for " The Witcher" :D

I hear you dude, many of my friends feel the same way, but I love AC for it's engaging story and excellent combat and as long as these two things stay intact, I'll buy every game they release. In this instance I am more excited because of the "alleged" pirate-theme than the fact that it is another AC though.

The Witcher is awesome indeed and should be loved by all. :p

OMG, here is where I start screaming like a teen girl over Bieber.

Time to get my AC stalking channels active again.

Please not another one...too much is too much. Same can be said for CoD.
As long as you have consumers buying Call of Duty; the franchise will never die.

But I understand what you're saying about this. Seems many devs are milking the franchise. Or is it the publisher that's milking it?

Yup, any of those famous overmilked franchises will only die with the company, its making way too much money for them to stop. It's the publishers that are the greedy basterds.

They just wanna keep making money... Why?
To upkeep their lifestyles?

Basically; it's taking something good (that starts off good anyway), realising its potential. Then exploiting it to your (their) benefit.

And the thing is they keep flaming COD for milking but all the big titles are being milked.... Dead space,BF, MoH, AC,

Huh? I will agree on the other series you mentioned but exactly how the hell is dead space being milked? I would hardly call 3 games (each about 2 to 3 years apart) milking a franchise. There is a difference between milking and taking it in a different direction to appeal to a wider audience.

The Sims is a better example of a franchise that's being milked.

Being milked in the way that micro transactions are apart of a game that you paid R450+ they aren't milking the Title ( not yet anyway) they are milking us for our money :wtf:

I don't agree with you there dude, I'm sorry. I hate micro-transactions as much as the next gamer, but in no way does that mean it's being milked. You are not forced to use micro-transactions and it has no impact on the game if you choose not to use it.

What started off as being a thread about the next Assassin's Creed, has turned into a debate about publishers or devs milking the genre(s). I wouldn't go so far as to say it's a derailment, but it is going a little off topic. It does however breed new and interesting conversations.
