Assassin's Creed III Thread

The acting doesn't seem bad, but the lip syncing can be a tad annoying. It's a epic game, only on sequence 6 now. I just can't help but feel like something is missing in this game

Finished the game night before last, twas EPIC! It was a really good game and Connor really impressed me in the 2nd half of the game. I still don't like the new free-run controls but other than that it was a great game. I did enjoy AC2 more though, it felt more polished and I just felt more involved in Ezio's story.

AC2 - 9.0
AC3 - 8.5

Thought I'd revive the thread, I've been playing this on PC the past few days and first things first, the game looks incredible. The textures are phenomenal. Had a few framerate issues when I first arrived in Boston but either it's improved or I'm used to it now. Only on sequence 5/6 now and it feels like I'm just getting into the game. Haytham is a kickass character (even though...). Still early days with Connor.
I'm not sure about the changes to the control scheme, it might just be that I've grown so used to the previous game's control schemes but I'm finding them a bit finicky at the moment. I'm also finding the game itself to be quite different from the traditional AC's. The frontier reminds me a bit of Red Dead Redemption. Still a way to go. One thing to be said again is that the game looks AMAZING.

I finished it yesterday. It was the breath of fresh air the series needed. There might have been some issues, but it was a decent change from Ezio's story and setting which was getting incredibly long in the tooth. By the time Revelations released, I pretty much hated AC, but AC3 changed my mind.

The only thing that pisses me off is the ending. It's like they asked someone from fanfiction.net to write an ending for them.

I'm loving the new game. The new combat element are vastly improved over the previous games in the series and very fluid. I'm only just starting to get the hang of the meat shield which is making a great addition to combat, now that I know how.
The bow and arrow works great but seems to be a bit slow for a legendary assassin. The rope dart also works great and it really shines in combat against captains, just throw it at them and pull them to the ground, then its an easy kill.

The best fun though comes in the naval missions which take a fair bit of practice to master but from there its awesome. Only issue is the pricey upgrades.

The story is great, it certainly is better than Ezio hunting trinkets in his later years. My only issue is that connor seems very vengeful, so when ever there is a conversation all I'm seeing is "screw helping the revolution I must stab this dude in the neck".
In makes it kinda hard to take his work seriously when it doesn't look like he his interested.

Just finished sequence 7, getting back to connor now.

Well, Connor did initially set out because he wanted to protect his village and because he wanted revenge on what the templars did to them. Ezio was also vengeful, the only difference is he took his revenge right at the start of the game and didn't have it spread out like Connor.

With regards to the combat, it's still as easy as it used to be, but there is now actually some challenge attached. Enemies can actually kill you, and they can do so rather easily if you don't pay attention. In 2, Brotherhood and Revelations it was nearly impossible for enemies to kill you. I once literally got up in the middle of a fight in Brotherhood, went to go make a cup of coffee and then came back to finish the fight.
