Has anyone with this card had any issues with it? Particularly fan issues?

A couple of months ago I bought myself the ASUS EAH4870. Worked great for a while then the fan died causing the card to overheat and shutdown my system.
So I RMAed it, my new card lasted about 1 month and then the fan died again. In both cases the card would still work but just overheat and shutdown my PC.

So now I sent it back and am thinking about getting another brand of 4870 as the dodgy fans on the ASUS are pissing me off. I don't want to get an aftermarket cooler and attach it as it would void my warranty :o.
But now I see that there is an Asus EAH4870 DK/HTDI/1GD5, 4 Heat-pipe dark knight cooler, which doesn't have the normal ASUS fan/cooler setup that has failed me so many times (and others if you check the ASUS forums).

So I just want to know if anyone here has had any issues with this card before I decide to take it.

Im not sure dude..it sux that you've had to send it back so many times.
I heard awhile ago that the 4870 and even some 4850's had cooling problems, fans not working ect. So just make super sure!!

He has posted on MyBB as well. :D

I think you will have to pay in to get that card... but I would assume the cooler is a lot better than the stock one. TAKE IT. :p

yeah I'm going to have to pay in say R650 but for 1GB ram, my old card had 512, and a better cooler I rekon I'll take it.

Couldn't see the Sapphire 1GB Toxic card on the price list but I'll ask about it.

thats quite a hefty price :p but i suppose u gotta cough it up when it comes to decent quality though :D damn jokerboi that Radeon is also very nice and not a bad price either
