Asus P6T SE Motherboard help

Can someone advise me on the following spec....not sure if the mb can take the ram...sorry, I'm new to this.

  • Intel® Core i7 920 Processor 2.66GHZ, Socket 1366, 8mb Cache HT (4 Cores + Hyper Threading / 8 core)FCLGA 8
  • Microsoft DSP Windows 7 Professional 64-BIT
  • ApacerGiant II 2x 2GB DDR3 240-Pin DIMM, 1.65V [PC14400] 1800MHz
  • ApacerGiant II 2x 2GB DDR3 240-Pin DIMM, 1.65V [PC14400] 1800MHz
  • SigmaBlitz, 0.8mm SECC, Black - Windowed Sidepanel, No PSU

The spec on the mb from Asus mentions this

  • Triple channel memory architecture
  • Supports Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (XMP)

  • *Refer to www.asus.com or this user manual for the Memory QVL(Qualified Vendors Lidts).

But I don't know what "(O.C.) means:confused::confused:

BTW : I intend population the rest of the empty ram slots once money starts flowing in.

Any help to a newbie will be gr8ly appreciated
 
The OC refers to when you overclock your RAM, either via the softmenu OC Genie or the Actual core clock speeds
Here's some free advice, as long as its DDR3 your motherboard will take ANY speed, it will simply step down if you use a lower speed module, I would opt for the fastest you can buy in matched pairs, so that would be 1333Mhz, which you can then Over Clock to the higher speeds if you really feel the need to
Also, keep in mind, if you ever mix RAM modules with different speeds, your motherboard will step down ALL of your modules to the lowest core frequency

Can't really add much to what Xerowing said.

On a side note, maybe stretch the budget a little bit more and get yourself a ATI 5770. I think the GPU you mentioned in your post is a little slow compared to the rest of the rig. That's just me though:)
