Athlon 2 X4 620 Performance

For those of you interested in building a good pc on a budget

below is some benchmarking screenshots of my amd athlon 2 x4 620 AM3 cpu running on a cheap biostar am2+ mobo. Total upgrade ended up costing less than R2600

New Components
Cpu was R1190
Mobo was R799
Ram was R400
450w PSU was R149

Total = R2538

Old components used
640 gig western digital caviar Blue
LG Dvd writer
MSI cd writer
El Cheapo case

Graphics is onboard radeon hd 3200 (Didnt buy a graphics card cause this is only used for lan purposes playing on low res isnt a problem and nothing else)that is able to play 90% of games at medium to low detail Runs MW2 Brilliantly and NFS shift (Bar crysis)

And BTW, those prices seem good, especially the 450W PSU for R150, where'd you buy this stuff?

bru, no offense. but that PSU, is some cheap generic shit that really only gives u 40% true power output

Yes I agree with grad on the psu but it is a budget machine and i had no intention on spending R600 just on a psu !

Got the CPU, psu and ram from Matrix Warehouse

got mobo from cafe viva (i had to specially order it as they didnt have stock of it.

other components came from my old lan pc

I'll probably upgrade the case to a raidmax tornado next month hopefully

3d mark scores will be low cause its GPU intensive and im using the weak onboard radeon with this pc, it will probably score decently if i fit a midrange HD 4000 series radeon or 9 series geforce.

Ram is Kingmax 1x2 Gig (gonna add another 2 gig in the coming months)

Yes. ran a benchmark in sandra and this is how my system (RED bar) performs against the dual core phenom II, Athlon II Dual core, Q6600 and q8200 intel quad core's

Shouldnt really matter, as long as you aren't using a high end gfx card.
