I did some research, Found both cards for about the same price. But yes, i did notice the gigabyte is more expencive in some... Probably stock count?
I would take that asus over Giga anyday. :D

It's petty funny the way some companies charge way more than others for the exact same card.

In fact the first batch of new generation cards are always made by the manufacturer, in this case AMD, and not just the GPU, the entire board.

All that's different is the decals on the fan, and what you get in the box (cables, games)

Pity the standard game with the 5870's is DIRT. Not a bad game but not nearly as awesome as getting the Valve Orange box that came with the 2900 series.

Well then Asus here I come or I can pay the extra R1000 and just say I have a leet card because it cost R6000:D

all gigabyte gfx cards have horribly inflated prices.

no difference though on reference cards, besides box bundle and sometimes different forms of cooling.

The Sapphire 5870 is a better option because of pricing and the fact that you get 2 games with it. Pricing is about R4500.00

Saphire Card, are as close as you can get to a Real ATI card(and they only Do ATI). And Those Cards Ususally out preform the other cards for some reason, I do not know why?

I will not buy a ASUS ATI card ever again, after I bought A Saphire card..

I've been badly burned in the past by gigabyte. Had better experience with Asus. But when it comes to GFX cards, I'd rather purchase a card from someone like Sapphire or XFX.
