Audio USB to AUX

Flex

Will lift for boobs!
Hi Guys

I need some help and advice.

I have Kraken headphones that I love to bits. I recently got a new mobo (Asrock X79 Extreme 9) which came with a gaming card for sound and lan. BUT it does not have 'n usb port, only aux.

Now my question is, is it possible to convert my Headphones USB to be able to plug into my pc as aux, and converter or connector or something like that? And will it be worth it?

I asked a tech guy, and he said it can't be done, as the USB headphones already have their own computers to process better sound quality and so on. Is this true, and does it make sense that USB headphones won't be sensible to use on a gaming audio card even if could be converted to aux somehow ?

Technically possible but not easily or cheaply. USB is a digital interface while Aux is analog.

Your in luck though - that board does have USB connections... Lots actually
- 4 x Rear USB 3.0 ports by TI, support USB 1.0/2.0/3.0 up to 5Gb/s
- 2 x Front USB 3.0 headers (support 4 USB 3.0 ports) by TI, support USB 1.0/2.0/3.0 up to 5Gb/s

Do you have the Kraken 7.1 Chroma's? If it's anything like my Siberia V2 Frost Blue headies then the USB connector is a mini soundcard - with the Chroma's it's obviously optimised for 7.1 surround sound so I reckon you're best with just sticking with that and connecting to a USB port - unless the mobo's sound card is amazing it's probably much the same as your USB one. I would agree with what the tech guy said.

To be completely honest, you won't even hear the difference. Stick with USB powered ones they can provide more power to the drivers than an analogue input.

Hehehe yeah it does have a crapload of USB ports. But it comes with the gaming lan/audio card and was just wondering if it is possible or beneficial at all
