Bad Company 2 crashes to desktop lately?

Hi guys,

I've been having an extremely annoying time with BFBC2 lately. The game will run perfectly fine and at some point, probably like 30 minutes in, will have a mini freeze and simply throw me back to the desktop.

This started happening recently and I have no idea what can be causing this. None of my other games have this issue - just BC2.

Are you aware of a bug in BC2 that's prone to doing this?
 
I have same issue some times. It happens at random times. It happended to my friends a lot in the beginning after release, but I never had the issue until a week or two ago. I'm running a Core 2 Dup PC with ATI card, so i don't think it's hardware related.
 
Okay so it's probably not something we did - mine also worked 100% fine up until recently. Hmmm...at least it's more than likely not on our side though. Game FAIL
 
Yeah, got the same issues. Dumped me out of BC2 twice last night, during a clan match. Ridiculously annoying.
 
Okay well here's something that may or may not help: I have Microsoft Security Essentials on my PC (actually like it very much). I disabled the realtime agent tonight and played BC2 without issues for a few matches.

Try it and let us know?
 
Also having the same issue,havent touched anything on my computer or installed anything,or even havent downloaded any pronz
 
So I seem to have the same Problem, but I think a bit of a crueler outcome than a simple crash to Desktop. Ill play some evenings with Zero Problem0's. and then most Evenings the game will just HANG, DEAD KAPUT! I have to hard reset teh whole PC.

I don't think it is MSE, my initial thoughts were that MSE must be teh "Baas"ted behind this. So I first just stopped all MSE related services at Windows Boot up. No Diff. the Problemo remained.

I have also tried all the other obvious checks: Re-downloaded the Latest Complete ATI Drivers, installed and gave it a shot. No joy, the game will still "Freeze, Nobody move or the bunny gets it" at times.

I tried the Previous drivers set too, but sadly with the same outcome :'(

I have even gone as far as too reset BOIS to default to eliminate any Over-clocking issues but yet still the image of the bunny with its big blank staring Eyes would reappear like something out of that quite shitty Emo flick The Ring.

I have, I rate prob tried everything, even the Suggestions from the year of Eli, sadly to NO avail.
It would seem that either Win7 or bfbc2 wants to move too a reformatted/reloaded lot on the block :'(

I don't mind reinstalling Windows, I normally do it often but at the moment I am seeing that time as time not spent killing some BASE RAPER :(
