Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn

Purchased this game for $54.00 back in the day while I was in the United States. One of my best gaming memories when it comes to RPG titles.

Anyone else play it? Time to share some Baldur's Gate moments.

My discs are unfortunately damaged beyond repair so I downloaded a torrent with it a few days go. Now having it once again I am tempted to play the classic. Windows 7 and Baldur's Gate 2. Lets see what happens :P

Do wish that it wasn't limited to 1024x768 and even that is "Unsupported".

Minsc and Boo... dont forget Boo! :D
 
One of my favorite all time games. Viconia and edwin are also some nice character. But minsc and boo" go for the eyes" are unforgettable.
 
Still got my cds right here and they still work but I made vertial discs of them.
The talking sword !!!
 
Spoiler for someone that may be playing (you never know):

My character ended up sleeping with Aerie.. I should have seen it coming with all the flirting though.

I never got to the final part where she has a baby (or becomes pregnant)... I only read about that recently on the internet.

Afaik there was no baby part, but yeah Aerie or Jameria you could have a relation with. Not sure about the evil one since did not take her into my party.
Even in the expansion Throne of Baal Aerie does not go that far.
 
ah okay. Yeah. apparently (according to other forums) the final point of the Aerie romance is her being pregnant in ToB. Cant personally confirm either.
 
Then there is some secrete way of doing it since dam I finished that game so many times, BEST END OF A GAME EVER !!!
 
Also really loved this game. I just wonder what I would think of it now if I played it again.

I felt Planescape: Torment was the better game just for its originality and style.
 
There is an aerie pregnancy and hardaelis steals her from you in you have both in the party for a long enough time.:)
 
as good as I think Dragon Age is, i don't see it being a spiritual successor to Baldurs Gate. It's totally a different type of game altogether

I don't really agree. For me its different but it still captures the spirit of bg 2. The companion interactions are very much in the bg2 style, haven't seen any game do this as well as these dao and bg2. I also find most of the companions to be quite memorable just like bg2, other games haven't managed to do that for me.

They aren't exactaly the same but DAO captures the spirit/feeling of bg2 imho.

but i tend to agree with Crzwaco here, i never used Sten/Wynne in the games. Coz i simply did not care for them. And the only person who remotely interested me was Morrigen ^^

Baldurs Gate 2 will only have a successor when BG3 comes out =p

All valid points.

Well I missed BG2 baby scene then for sure or its not in mine for some reason....

I do miss my castle with the money you get :D
There has not been one RPG that comes close to capturing the spirit of BG2
Hope there is a addon where you could have a baby and life happely ever after until the next blight :D

Or maybe some of us (myself included), are peering through rose-tinted glasses.

Yeah. I feel the same way. I think its probably not the case though. I feel similarly about playing WoW back in the day versus playing it at the moment... maybe im doing something wrong :)

I always knew there was a reason not to have that monkey in my group. I would have been extremely upset.. even thought it was only a electronic relationship. :cool:
