Batman: Arkham Knight's Premium Edition is priced at a cool R1200 for console

Iv never understood what the "season Pass" thing is?

I Can see it working with a subscription game, but is it basically like access to free DLC they release for the first few months?

Dayam! If the PC version costs that much, I shudder to think how much it'll be on console

?? It quite clearly says R1200 for console. I'm confused now.

Ah my bad, clearly I wasn't paying attention when I read it. I think I skimmed over it and somehow got the idea that this is the PC price, and that it's coming out on console later.

Still, very expensive

Yes, it was actually used more for games like CoD/Battlefield where you had to pay for the map-packs and for expansions . The season pass would basically include it, but in those games case you generally have a fairly good idea of what you will get and that you most likely will need to get it to continue playing in said game . So it works for certain types of games, but in this games' case, there is opinion that this is rather absurd :

I don’t believe that the existence of DLC content will necessarily diminish the quality of the $60 version of Batman: Arkham Knight. After WB’s recent announcement of a season pass, it remains one of my most hotly anticipated games of 2015, and I intend to play the hell out of it. That said: what the hell is this?

For $40, Warner Bros and Rocksteady promise us the following:

“This season pass for Batman: Arkham Knight delivers new content every month for 6 months, featuring new story missions, more supervillains invading Gotham City, new legendary Batmobiles, advanced challenge maps, alternative character skins, and new drivable race tracks.”

As a huge Batman fan, that strikes me as completely bonkers. Even if some of this extra content ends up being great – I do love Arkham challenge maps, and I might even spring for a well-done Animated Series Batman skin (yes, again) – there’s virtually no way all of it will be worth paying for. Who in their right mind would buy a bundle of vaguely described DLC all at once, especially sight unseen, at two-thirds the price of a full new game?

This scares me most though in what they'll end up charging PER DLC that they release for those that DIDN'T get the season pass... Lets hope everyone votes with their wallet.

DISCLAIMER: I have pre-ordered the game (x2? hee hee)

So this will probably happen

DLC - Month 1 - New story mission adding 30min of additional gameplay introducing a new supervillian
DLC - Month 2 - New story mission adding 30min of additional gameplay introducing a new supervillian
DLC - Month 3 - Replicas of 1943 Batmobile, 1949 Batmobile, 1965 Batmobile, Batman returns batmobile, Batman forever batmobile, etc
DLC - Month 4 - Challenge maps
DLC - Month 5 - Characters skins *yawn*
DLC - Month 6 - Race tracks

Congrats on wasting money on rubbish, they might have an "ultimate season pass" waiting to appear by month 5 though

Irony is, this type of content 99% of the time ends up in the bargain bin for free after 6 months, or part of the goty edition for nothing. I have never seen any dlc getting more expensive individually, but cheaper.

Indeed, plus this will also happen:

So this will probably happen

DLC - Month 1 - New story mission adding 30min of additional gameplay introducing a new supervillian
DLC - Month 2 - New story mission adding 30min of additional gameplay introducing a new supervillian

---> Gold Edition --> get game for $50 with all DLC up to that point for free

DLC - Month 3 - Replicas of 1943 Batmobile, 1949 Batmobile, 1965 Batmobile, Batman returns batmobile, Batman forever batmobile, etc
DLC - Month 4 - Challenge maps

---> Deluxe Edition -> get game for $49 with first 4 DLC packs for free
---> DLC Special : Get Month 1-4 DLC for $10 ;)

DLC - Month 5 - Characters skins *yawn*
DLC - Month 6 - Race tracks

---> Legendary Edition , Steam special , the entire season pass + game for $39.99 . :D
---> DLC Special get all DLC for $10

Congrats on wasting money on rubbish, they might have an "ultimate season pass" waiting to appear by month 5 though

...and finally after 7 months they will announce a sequel (which you can pre-order for $80) .
