Batman: Arkham Origins' Initiation DLC will explore Bruce Wayne's journey to be a ninja before he became a bat, producer Guillaume Voghel told Eurogamer at this week's Eurogamer Expo.

Initiation will follow Bruce's efforts to prove himself to Kirigi, the ninja that taught ninjitsu to both Bruce and his enemy Ra's al Ghul's League of Assassins. Initiation will be the first event within the Arkham series to use a setting outside of Gotham.

Arkham Origins will also feature I Am The Night, a difficulty mode that unlocks after players complete New Game+. I Am The Night will not allow saves and limits Batman to just one life. Considering Voghel said that Arkham Origins' "main narrative arc and side missions last about 12 hours," it sounds like players will need to conduct a crime-fighting marathon to overcome I Am The Night.

I assume when they say won't allow saves, you will be able to stop and carry on, but as soon as your load the save its deleted? So if you die you can't reload it. 12 hours is unreasonable for one sitting.

I think they expect you to sit for 12 hours and finish the game. It is like an 'insanity' mode type thing.

I really doubt it, I think its going to be more like Ironman mode on Xcom. Even dead space where they expected you to sit the whole time had 3 save points in that case (so you could split it up by 3-4 hour sessions), and it was a shorter game by the sounds of it.

Well they say 'no saves' though. I wonder who the hell will sit through that.

I just read some comments on another site, and it seems speed runs on the current batman are 4 hours. So yeah maybe it is reasonable. If it is 10 hours about even if you speed run, then I still think they mean you have a running save that you can't revert too if you die.

Someone at AGDQ 2013 did it in 2:37(but they like breaking the games, so will have to check the video out)
