Batman vs. Superman has found its Lex Luthor

Well he did a pretty good arrogant/smart-arse job in the movie Now you see me, they probably looked at stuff like this when they casted him:

I think he can pull it off

He just needs to be a bit more sinister and then he's got it!

Very, very entertaining. Haven't actually seen him in that role, so it actually solidifies the role for me a bit more.

Saw this today and had a chuckle :p:

Haha, yeah I haven't made up my mind here yet. Its totally not who I would have expected, but these casters generally know what they're looking for.

Interesting, if you only know him from the Social Network and Zombieland, then it seems like a really weird choice, I suppose he has grown up though.

It just seems like all round they going for "weaker" physical characters... Lex and Batman are normally Big physically imposing characters... These oaks had better hit the gym! and HARD!

Pfft, every single person who has been cast for a superhero role has been fed roids by the dudes. So fear not :)

And I do mean, every single person

Ha ha... if you look at Christian Bale in that magician movie compared to batman, its not hard to believe....

ha ha... Good point... But yes Lex does have to be bald... If he has hair it will just be retarded...

My biggest concern for this movie is still Ben Affleck though... I dont mind him, but hes just no Christian Bale...

Essentially (unlike that Smallcrap depiction) Luthor is a brilliant, if slightly insane, scientist, who lost his hair due to a chemical experiment gone wrong - Superman saved him from this before things got worse than simply baldness - he resents Superman for his baldness. Silly, but he is insane.

Not in every continuity. In some his resentment of Supes is due purely to megalomania tainted with a God-complex. In other's he is tasked to bring down Supes at government behest ; Some still he just hates the thought of an alien deciding humanities fate. Regardless he is one of [if not THE] most dangerous villains in the DCU (Also one of the smartest characters period). I sincerely hope that Eisenberg can capture the essence of Lex in a way that doesn't diminish the subtler aspects of his character.

Will be interesting to see how it all develops, to be honest I am not a massive fan of comics (insanely in love with Manga and Anime) so the movie adaptations are enough for me, to get by on I sometimes just let the popularity pass and stream it instead of going to the cinema unless of course I am requested by friends to go, or my brother scores me free tickets!

I dislike how people jump to conclusions stating that said actor will play a bad role when:

A) They don't know the actor too well/stereotype the actor by the films he/she acted in.

B) None of those said people sat in with the production crew, producer and/or director when they were doing the actor/character casting.

C) Forget that it is the films company's money and they can do with it what they want - They wouldn't have cast the actor if they did not believe said actor to be the person they are seeking for the role.

Well if it's anything to go by the new spider man looks awesome and i think they have 3 or 4 villains in which would be a new record for vilains in a superhero movie most i thin was three so far and with batman vs super man it's already lex and and i don't know what other villains are planned but i heard somewhere Joker might be involved and bane and if bane does appear i hope it's not the darth vader Ed hardy knock off because that sucked the first bane in batman and robin was better :D

Where did you hear this from ?

I dunno man, in his early acting days I would've agreed but he's done some good films since. I reckon he could pull it off well.

It's not his acting that I'm worried about, but more of him as a green lantern. Yes they've introduced the Arab lantern now and what not, but his sheer size just doesn't fit the bill. And asking him to lose that size will result in a dead director :)

John Stewart is pretty bulky. The Rock's size won't be an issue. What might be a problem is that the Rock doesn't normally play roles where the character is modest, quiet and depressed (like John Stewart has been for the last couple of years, since blowing up Mogo). He looks the part and I reckon that something good will come out of it, he's not the worst actor I've come across.
