Batman vs. Superman has found its Lex Luthor

Actually, that's not true. This is from DC's Wikia:

Genius-Level Intellect
Eidetic Memory
Polylingual
Escapologist
Hand to Hand Combatant:
Expert Strategist
Peak of Human Physical Condition

I think Nolan was pretty faithful to the character, apart from the venom.

No i don't think you know what i mean i know all bane's traits but Venom is bane's strength and weakness and that too me was missing in the last movie. Bane without Venom is just another villain that's above normal intelligence and Hardy's body was a bit too small if you look at the comics

He did stay true in most aspects but the one core of bane he lost :( and i'm so glad Nolan's not doing this movie

Ok I get it. Didn't understand that from your post. Venom would have made him more bad ass.

That's like batman without dead parents... :p Happyman.

It isn't the first time that Bane has appeared as an antagonist sans Venom; granted it is the depiction he's most well known for, but for the sake of the universe I can understand why they changed this aspect of the mythos [kind of akin to how Spiderman's web shooters became organic in the first movies]. The change was to make it believable that Bane could lose to Batman eventually; had he had access to Venom it would be break the suspension of belief for him to lose in single combat.

In short; it was a character Nerf :p

That might be the case. He would be uber powerful with venom...and Bats (I mean, er...'I') had a hard time getting rid of Joker, Ra's al Ghul and Scarecrow. A hulking monster would be difficult to beat in this universe.

I'm getting flashbacks of the Bane they used in Batman & Robin. Now that was just silly. Sure it had venom but the character...OMG I'm holding you guys responsible for these sucky memories.

Yeah that was ugly. I can still maintain that the only issue I really had with Bane was his non-spanish accent and (to a lesser extent) venom.

Rofl yeah he was a let down but he had what Ed hardy needed in the Size the venom and the Accent. But WW is a definite for the movie :) and i think Gal Gadot will make a nice addition :D

Quite interesting indeed. From what I have read, we will definitely see Batman going up against Superman?

In some sense probably before they realise there is some greater threat which can be dealt with better working together.

If that rumoured story is true, then the greater threat could be Metallo.

I only remember him from 1 place, Issue #1 of Batman/Superman comic, where they take him on. Could not read further so I don't know how that story goes.

Other than that, I don't know Metallo or his origins.

Yeah, that could be possible.

The comic you read was part of the Public Enemies story line. There is also a DC animated movie based on that run which was quite decent, Batman/Superman:Public Enemies.

Now wouldn't it be interesting if the next movie after this one is a live-action Public Enemies "whistling:
