Batteries and new tyres disappear from metro police cars

eThekwini metro police are investigating how batteries and new tyres disappear from their cars, the Witness newspaper reported on Monday.

The newspaper reported spokesman Senior Superintendent Eugene Msomi as saying a number of internal investigations were underway.

The report quoted an unnamed senior officer as saying that a police vehicle with brand new tyres would return to base with worn tyres.

Corruption and theft is everywhere in government, its disgusting. Some people are saying this is like "cops robbing cops"...buts its way worse than that. Its cops robbing the tax payer, yet another display of callous ignorance of rules. I can almost guarantee they dont see it as stealing. What also pisses me off, is that now these cop vehicles are going to be speeding on these sub-par tyres, and if they have an accident its never considered their fault. Its just a fucking circus
