So i started using energizer rechargeable batteries for my wireless controller and i got just over 40 Hours of game-play on Dark Souls before it started that mildly annoying green ring thing, i was really surprised i was not expecting them to last that long.

I venture to say i played about 2hours min per session and weekends like 5-7hours a session.

What are you guys using and how long do they last im curious comparing the packs and various rechargeable batteries.

I'm partial to utilising Energizer rechargeable, after about the 10th recharge you may notice a slight degradation in the time they last, but seeing as they rechargeable its win all round!

I utilise rechargeables' in all mah peripherals! And it is win!

My wireless keyboard and mouse batteries last more than 'n year. One of the things Microsoft did right :D

You can replace the batteries for an xbox controller? Surely they aren't AA sized or something of the sort... Can you do the same for a ps3 controller?

Above all I'm wondering WHY you would do that...

the batteries in an xbox controller are normal AA batteries...

I use energizers as well.. Mine seem to fail to charge after about 3 years but up until that point provide fantastic use.

I use ORB rechargable battery packs for my xbox. They charge via usb cable for 2-2.5 hours and give me about 20 hours gaming time. You can buy a twin pack from Takealot for R199.00

I prefer the individual rechargeable batteries -- Duracell and Energizer are both fine -- to the special rechargeable battery pack sets you can get. Those packs don't seem to last for as many recharges as the individual batteries. Also, you're spending about as much per pack set (usually 2) as you would for multiple individual batteries. The packs are a tiny, tiny bit more convenient in that you don't have to remove them from the controllers to charge them.

3 very odd questions here, why would you think you can't replace your batteries? What you meant to through you controller away when they stop working?

Why would they not be AA batteries? Yes there are better batteries out there, but AA are pretty common and easy to get.

Why would you replace batteries? because they have stopped recharging/working.
