Battle net services in Africa

Yes I even forgot about Overwatch. But like you guys say they were looking into an African server but the infrastructure isnt near to Blizzard standards.

There have been rumours for YEARS that Blizzard would be bringing more server to South Africa for games like South Africa! It just never happens! Like you say the infrastructure is FAR from where it needs to be!

Seems like Valve is already having problems with Local CSGO server, been laggy and unpredictable for days now! Apparently from being overloaded by users

Its a fact actually, as soon as our latency drops we show we are better players - we have a faster reaction time since we learn to react to things a few secs faster.
 
They want to start a new thing for CSGO servers to make playing against teams in Europe playable. They want to set up servers Midway some where between South Africa and Europe. I think that would be awesome for more game and platforms. having a ping of 70-80 from both sides wont be that bad.
Not sure how realistic and viable it will be, but seems to be a real possibility

This concept sounds quite viable, but like you say that would mean some where in mid Africa and I don't see that happening unfortunately.

- Get told how they had the sex with your mother
- Get told they hope your father dies of aids

No Ignore Function? B4? Did you not maybe mean BF4? Why play in EU server when there are SA servers?

The beta has SA Servers as well. Seems like people are posting just because posting is posting without knowing what they are talking about :/

Didn't mean bf4 no, I've had a few russians with 200-300ms ping is CSGO in the past that deliberately set there max acceptable ping higher so they can troll people from other countries, normally hacking to.

So there are a few things that are against us.

1. Cost of hosting
2. Cost of internet

Right now its very expensive to host services of this capacity in SA when considering how easy things like AWS makes it and the fact that internet is incredible cheap.

For those that compete a lot, the problem is the level of play here in SA. Yes I'm sure that playing oversees players will help that, but its not an absolute. I remember when Q3 was still big (man miss those days) and Ph4ntom was placed 7th in the world. They had ZERO play with oversees players, yet they were exceptionally good.

Local support is a good idea, just not viable atm.
