Battlefield 3 Beta

I had a driver named PurplePony yesterday for a while (yes I know, this does make for some really bad jokes) and this guy seemed intent on hitting everything with the Jeep
We hit a few pedestrians, some bushes, one or two trees, a few fences a house at one stage and then finally we hit a tank and it hit back :/

Yes exactly. I think Caspian border is possibly just a resource hog on the servers atm. Not sure if the providers realised just how bad it would be.

64 connections to each game, if you run 4 games on a server machine = 256 connections to the server and running 4 games worth, loading games etc. I don't know how many games they run on each server machine but I can imagine it being pretty tough on those machines.

You might find that some of the machines have more full games than others and that could be a contributor.
 
i must say there was something "different" about the iGame servers

thanks to all the RSP's for providing servers

on a side note: I cannot tell the difference in Caspian border between 40 fps and above, feels the same which is weird :o

LOL Xero he should get a bunder bashing Ribbon :)
 
This is one of the reasons why I posted, DICE has done some really large scale server optimization on their side, the servers run much much better and with less RAM loads than the BC2 Servers
There are however still memory leak issues that do cause crashes etc and the server instances overall are a lot more CPU intensive, but for all the stability issues we've all experienced over the Beta, I think DICE deserve the recognition that they have really done things right in this case

Yeh, imagine the BETA without south african servers!!! Would've been a tragedy!!! I can't wait for the final and am sure all that EA will know what servers require so that the providers will be great.

Thanks to all providers for setting them up. You are all legends.

That is great... i have noticed an increase in experience on the servers. And from a client side it is great not to fall through the floor anymore :)

And the BETA is for DICE/EA to sort out bugs as well as other stakeholders to sort out their problems. So I think it has gone well. See everyone on the final release date!

Speaking of Hiding Away, anyone manage to cap Tinman, he sniped me from somewhere last night and I never got the chance to return the favor
 
I was only online for a few minutes last night (Sick as a Dog ) but I drove one of the plastic tanks for a bit, got out and as I was quietly killing Stonecold and his squad he DARED kill me
For this, there must be some form of retaliation on my part
 
Myself and Race had our own gamemode on BF3 Caspian Border called:

"King of the hill" else you will find me in the sky shooting tanks with my tank hunter aka the OG chopper!

Haha. yeh.

I have had my sniping moments... i'm not very good at it and usually end up being stabbed in the back... So i just stick to the attacking or defending roll.

I am keen to get involved in a clan again when the retail game is launched. Anyone keen? :P

Yeeh... i feel like I am just flying around with a big red target on me. I get a few hundred bullets into other but never enough to bring them down.

So see you all when we are at lvl1 again :D
 
I'm getting the Special RSP Version of the Game though, SO I start at Level 90 with all unlocks
Yeah ... no wait I'm thinking about the special edition of Chess Masters :/

Yeah was fun Buzz, I love the AT mines :D so many tasted their awesomeness this weekend.
 
And it has ended. Glad I got in a few last minutes but I'm wondering if that hasn't made the wait worse :) Can't wait for the release, looking forward to what other maps there'll be.

It's only 18 days to wait. 18. Long. Days.

Btw I <3 my stinger missiles... Lock-on fire, forget and watch the pilot eject out of the chopper or plane just to have 5 snipers drop him out the sky!!
