Battlefield 3 dedicated server pricing might be prohibitive

They will probably settle for 24 player servers with our bandwidth in SA and the machine needed to run this.

To clarify the situation, without breaching our NDA with DICE/EA
iGame as an RSP, should we finalize paperwork for the hosting of the title as stated in this announcement thread -

Will absorb the cost of providing Free Public Servers as we do with all other games
There are a number of factors that come into consideration in this specific scenario, but , and once again without breaking our NDA with DICE/EA I can confirm that should we host the title, there will be 64 Player servers in South Africa hosted by iGame

Yes I hear BF3 will use extra special bits & bytes, which in turn require extra special servers.

Nice to see igame hosting though.

Great to hear Xero, this puts my fears mostly at ease for now. :)

So is there a possibility that 384 people might suffer with BF3 being mroe server intensive? I'm assuming that means more bandwith intense too?

Hope not, really looking forward to the multiplayer on this - that is if my PC can run it.

Very greatful that igame and mweb will be hosting 64 player servers as mweb is my isp
and hasn't dissapointed yet. Just hope my 384k line holds up in a full map,
but somehow i doubt it...

Great that ISPs provide game servers as a free service to gamers :) Just wondering, whats in it for them? Free publicity and goodwill?

this is all news for fanboys to get all worked up and try and discredit the other game
