Battlefield 3 PC discussion thread MK II

Just buy the basic game and you will get Metro, Noshar Channel and Khargh Island (4th name escapes me now) . Each DLC adds 4 maps, new vehicles and game modes. Buy the Premium and you get all the attachments for cheaper (just check).

Started playing this online last night as well, my brother bought SimCity and chose this as the free game. Will take some getting used to playing this on PC; played a lot on PS3. I do like the fact that there is local servers though, game performs way better on PC than on PS3.

Was it the original that he got free? Do you feel you need the expansions?

Yeah it's the vanilla version. I don't think you need the expansions, but the price it is now on Origin for Premium in pretty decent. I haven't struggled to find any games or anything, there seems to be full servers pretty much all the time. Having the expansions will obviously be better since there are more maps etc., but I really don't think you need to have it to enjoy the game. Especially if you're only gonna play it casually.

Thanks, reason I was thinking about getting it was because of the R89 version. Don't want to get the premium with bf4 around the corner and its more as a tester that I want to get it

Most people have the first DLC that came out as they got it for free with their pre-orders but you'll always find a metro map that's full and some vanilla BF3 maps available.

if my gf downloads the latest bf3 patch, can I just copy her update folder thus leaving me with some bandwidth for the rest of the month?

does not seem to work, both our bf3 folders are 19.9gb in size, yet when i open the game it wants to download +-5,5gb :(

Yes, it just needs to confirm that the correct files are downloaded and check their CRC files. Do you have Premium or all the DLCs? My BF3 folder weights in at 34.2Gb.

GEEZUS! An FPS that's THAT size?! THIS is why I want BO2 instead. It's bigger than a god damn RPG! I'm not so sure I want to download it anymore. I think I'll get BO2 somehow instead.

I'll swear on my life I'll only play BF3 again IF I ever get premium.. Which I won't.

So... Farewell Battlefield 3. You shall NOT be missed.

Isn't this the third time you said your going to stop playing bf3? :p but yeah it is INSANE

DLCs boet, DLCs; problem is each patch before an DLC update weights in at around 2 to 4Gb, then the DLC comes in 4 to 6Gb.

Keep your Blops2 :p

My Flight Simulator 2004 folder was 65Gb at one stage, and my Flight Sim X around 80Gb. My downloads folder for addons sat on it's own 200Gb drive. Just saying...

If I had had it I would.

I'm pretty much done with BF3,it' a good game but it's time to move on

/Waits for BF4.

Oh God,i think i might be turning into a casual gamer. (semi-casual fits better)

/Starts downloading StarCraft2 again.

I couldn't give 2 damns about Bf4. It'll have to be something rather impressively different from its predecessor to get me to want it. In the meantime; my SP games should keep me busy...
