Battlefield 3 review and opinion roundup

Well if Battlefield is anything like Bad Company 2 was [in SP and MP], it can only be awesome. I haven't played the beta, so I am really excited about this.
 
Can someone shed some light on the whole Origin saga? Was it changed to be less obtrusive and spy-like? I'd love to get BF3, but I'm not willing to trust EA with info on my PC that I don't want them to peek at.

I remember an article saying that they had changed the EULA, so it may be less spy-like. Haven't heard any stories of people getting emails from EA about the contents of their hdd.

Well, I don't have any other EA games on, but them looking at more than games they published is my big concern. Also, i'm not concerned about getting emails about the contents of my HDD, I'm concerned about other people getting those emails... ;)

I can, in fact, gladly shed some light. In a short summary:

Dude, I can assure you, it's going to be NOTHING like BC2.

Let me highlight a few differences. In BF3:

There will be PROPER hitreg.
There will be choppers that actually flies like a chopper and not a crowded schoolbus.
There will be 3 times the levels to unlock.
There will be way more weapon and vehicle unlocks.
It is NOT a console port.
There is so much more depth in this game.

BC2 cannot even be compared to this game. It's going to be soooooooooooooo damn legit!

The people complaining about Origin. Seriously, we've been over that a hundred times. Origin is no different than any other digital distribution system. Some people unfortunately (or should I say fortunately) fell for this negative publicity and cancelled their pre-orders. Everyone else bid them good riddance and life moved on. :D

Still utterly retarded. They could have and should have used steam.
Anyway past tense now.
Im looking forward to the game, although I must say the game is quite heavy on bw, and people with capped solutions might struggle. 10 hours = around 850mb.

quite easily, actually. you just sit by, and watch as others rush out and buy it, all the while enjoying the subtle genius of Dark Souls and the guilty pleasures of Batman Arkham City :-)
 
I'm not really into FPS games any more either, but if I had to choose one BF3 is probably the most interesting one to be released.

I watched a video of some singleplayer by TotalHalibut though and frankly it looks like a glorified series of quicktime events. I hear that the multiplayer is far better though.
