Battlefield 3 single player campaign clocks in at 7 hours long

What happened to it being 12 hours long? I thought they were trying to make it a lot longer than CoD's singleplayer, but that's pretty much how long I spend on the average CoD SP campaign. :/

Edit: Ah, there's a separate co-op campaign as well. Guess that makes up for the short SP.

Multiplayer isn't high up on my list at the moment. I'm still stuck on a 384 line, and it could barely handle BC2, so I don't want to know what BF3 is going to do to it. :P

It works on a 384, just a word of advice don't try it on a faster line cos once you've played it on a 1meg or faster. playing on a 384 will just make you upset.

Hope the single player is 7 hours of epic, I'm fine with that
 
i usually finish COD games in 3/4 hours these days ( used to be longer but Veteren isnt as hard as it used to be)

I usually treat SP as an interactive movie of slightly longer length... which is what they have become with these long cut scenes. FPSes don't have a lot of room to make them super long unless you want to be walking around for hours (Vietcong/Farcry/operation flashpoint) and then you should choose a game taking that into account.

And, BF1942 and BF2 had no SP :P
 
Seven hours is more than enough, just means I'll be able to play MP faster(yes I do SP before MP).
BF isn't really known for their great SP, although I enjoyed BC2, so I don't really have high expectations for the SP.
 
I really don't mind if Itz "short" with the amount of mp that I play that 7 hours will last me about 2-3 weeks...:) I'm still busy with gears 3's campaign...:)
 
Sounds about right. I mean really. Who buys an MP FPS game to sit and follow a story line? :-P More fun blowing people's brains out.
