Battlefield 3 Steam release evidence mounting

This would be awesome! I'm one of the people that won't touch Origin, and I'd love to get F3 on steam.
 
This should have been done for launch...but Meh I am sure I have said that before in a few other threads.
Fail on EA's part.
 
Good news. Seems EA is realising they can't just be the self appointed kings from day 1 and actually have to work for that place.
 
This is amazing news, but not because of BF3 for me. This means that other Origin exclusives like ME3 might also appear on Steam. :D

For me it's the fact that they scan your entire computer. If it wasn't for that, I wouldn't mind it much at all.
 
yea makes sense, I feel like they use my PC resources too much so i'm not too fond of installing them. That's why i got no experience with them. I'm still stuck in the old days where you put the CD in click install, run the icon on your desktop and play the game. Guess i been playing wow too long, time to move on:P
 
For those using Origin, what's the experience about the PC scanning like so far? Someone told me the amount of tasks Origin does behind the scenes on your PC is astonishing.
 
If this means we can run the game without installing Origin, I'm all for it. If it requires you to have both Steam and Origin open, no thanks.
 
This is really good news, I just hope they don't screw us all over by saying you can only have it on 1 or the other. (eg if you installed it in origin then you can't play it through steam.)
 
I would have thought it would be like that somehow, if you think about it that means they would be giving you a second copy for free, maybe they will let people transfer though.

I would suspect this will be the case if it ever does land on Steam, similar to how GFWL and Steam works at the moment.

Indeed. It would be silly to say you're being screwed over for this. It would be like complaining because you can't play a game you bought on GamersGate on Steam.

I doubt it dude. But I agree. they better. Origin is kak. Maybe it will get better in time but it took steam years to get to the way it is today.

Agreed, except that the games will probably be more affordable on Steam... Origin is still charging R350 I think for Mass Effect 1 and 2 (individually that is).
