Lol, lots of replies on your post. Spotting is one of the primary roles ALL players must do. If you see a red triangle on the minimap or a marked enemy on the screen, it means one of your team mates have done his/her/it's job and spotted the person.
I'm thinking of creating a macro or something to ask team mates to "Spot Plz" every minute while playing a server. Not dificult, press Q on an enemy soldier/tank/heli/plane/turd and it will be marked for the whole team to concentrate fire on. Q, then fire.
 
I've been knifed twice since the Beta
I don't watch the minimap as I have discovered it is essentially useless, that along with the fact that I have to force my severely aged eyes to try and focus on what's happening around me all the time to prevent myself from running/diving/slowly ambling into a gunfight I can't win

It has improved a lot since I started playing the game in Black and White though
 
When you spot someone and they go around a corner, the red triangle dissapears, but they are still visible on the mini-map for a while. The mini-map is very helpful. I always kill the okes that try to sneak up on me when they've been spotted and go around the wall.

Also, when an enemy shoots, without a silencer, their position is briefly displayed on the mini-map. That's why you don't really fire unless you need to, otherwise the next thing that happens will be a mortar dropping right on your head. Also, when you are done firing, move away. That's why campers are so easy to kill. Firing a silenced weapon though does not give away your position on the mini-map.

it was at Damavand peak, you and Spartan were picking the okes off as the landed from the base jump
However i managed to land behind you guys and managed to knife you! I went after Spartan but he knew i was coming because im sure you guys were using voip and you told him :(
 
Nope we generally sit around and talk smack over VOIP
I can't recall ever having a conversation that was game related

I don't, only flash suppressor for me.

BTW, I have found a use for the stupid flash light. I have it on my side arm to quickly fire when in need. Guys seem quite puzzled when I have a big RPK and suddenly a shiny death needle.
 
well i know the point of spotting and i usually try to play on hardcore servers with 3D spotting disabled. I still feel that your mark stays on the map for far to long.

We have as a group and clan played 2 full seasons of CoD4, 2 Full Seasons of BF2, One Season of BC2 and one Seaosn of BLOPS in the past three years
We have countless comp wins to our credit and have competed internationally in multiple events

So when we join a Public Server, we don't join to play seriously, we join it to have some fun, laugh a bit over TS and possibly get one or two kills
Its the gaming equivalent to having a beer with a few friends after work

O I C!!! LOL, I play to unwind after a day of helping idiot users with useless computer PEBKAC errors, the occasional irratic server and to get away from it all. More or less the same then.
BTW, is there a way to get paid to play BF3 all day? I will super like that idea!

ps. WTF is BLOPS?

LOL Oops. HAHAHAHAHA. Blonde moment, I forgot about the silly game called BLOPS completely.
Anyway, I love my job. It give me such pleasure to see people look at me funny when I tell them it was a user error and not some unworldly demon that possessed their PC. :|
