All Routers are not Created Equally
One thing to remember with the VOX Routers though, they reserve a dedicated segment of your Line Speed for Voice Data as part of their Call Quality of Service Settings
That Said , for gaming, use a gaming router :)

Seems something is wrong with pingtest because when I do the vodacom (PTA) test I get 40ms and when I do the JHB test it gives me an error (cant test packetloss, check firewall - which I dont have lol).

I live in PTA and so I went and pinged gaming servers hosted in JHB and then one in PTA, and both gave me 12ms ping.

4meg line and 4096 kbps Mweb account.

we have 4 people using it but i have had no problems in the past.it started at the start of December when telkom wanted to install some new stuff in the sinoville area in Pretoria.
 
I just want to play with a low ping.Was sniping last night and sniped a guy in the head,he then proceeded to kill 2 of my teammates before dying of the head shot.

If it were a line issue, it would generally be consistently slow (or disconnect). The fact that your ping is jumping up and down points towards some one using the line.

Some one downloading something or watching youtube could drain all of your line's speed and spike your ping.

I have a 10mb line and I often find myself lagging because some one in the household is doing something intensive on the net.

I'm not saying you are wrong though, but if it is some one in your household then you could find a solution easily for it (netlimit that person :P).

Hopefully it is not a congested exchange.

The problem is in my area (sinoville,everyone is the area is having problems with their line,just hope telkom moves on soon)

currenly i can't join BF3 servers,it stuck at ''Joining Server...''
 
With all these measures being put in place to curb the haxor nubs, it sounds like it's almost time for me to return to the game and enjoy it again.
