The two biggest MP FPS games to be released recently. It's no surprise that they're mentioned together. What is surprising is that some people seem to believe that MW2 is somehow as good as, or better than, BC2. The only universe where that is actually reality is a universe composed of really drunk people...

The issue of dedicated servers aside, MW2's multiplayer is great. Come on. My friends and I have had loads of fun playing it. I'm also not convinced there's a good comparison to be made between BC2 and MW2. They're quite different.

I'm totally addicted to Rush. I mean, Conquest is kinda fun, I suppose, but I love the tremendous scope of Rush. I've been in matches that have run over an hour, which is like nothing else I've ever played. And I think the squad system is terrific.

I don't think that's true at all. I've been playing this with a bunch of friends since launch, and despite all being quite average in terms of skill, and obviously all starting out at the bottom in terms of ranking (I'm still only rank 13, and I have the worst k/d ratio in the history of the universe), my side usually wins and my squad almost always gets the Gold Squad pin. Winning BC2 is all about teamwork.

Ja and the universe where people think BC2 is the best thing since sliced bread is also very far away. I still think its stupid to compare the two since they are way different.

MW2 has allowed me to make a lot of friends with whom im playing BC2 aswell and we still enjoy playing MW2. Doesnt matter what the problems are its still fun.

MW2 is getting the same rage that CoD4 got. It's fun. For a while.

The thing I hate the most about MW2 is that ever since it's release, every single one of my Steam friends now has a name that is riddled with ^1[^4C^7L^3A^4N^9] etc.

Great post there! I think you nailed it better than anyone else. FUN is what gaming is all about after all. So it really doesn't matter which game you prefer, as long as you have FUN playing it.
 
It might just be me, but every time I get into the main menu my focus immediately goes to the soldiers crotch area, is there some kind of ball box attachment of some sort on there?

One thing to add to the MW2 vs BC2
BC2 is way grander and has this Epic war feel to it ,for me at times it feels slow ,
Where MW2 and COD4 feel alot faster more pace.

This obviously depends on what you like ....I too have become addicted to BC2 rush mode which is awesome ,and I also played in that one round that lasted just over an hour ,no other MP game has made me so dependent on who I play with in a squad ...BC2 is more of a tactical game and if you get the tactics right then you will win .

MW2 is rogue you are an individual in a group that needs to survive which is prob why its faster at times than BC2

But the thing about War that Modern Warfare 2 doesnt do is that War isnt about being the lone ranger its about being in a team and picking up a fallen comrade its a Team Effort

And Thats WHY BC2 IS more FUN

What really makes bc2 stand out for me is the team work mechanic is done, so so well,
I also enjoy the fact that average oaks playing in a squad as a team, is so much more effective than a good players
in a squad that aren't playing as a team.
COD4 does not promote team play like this, to many lone rangers develop in COD4, where bc2 promotes team play.
Even though the guns feel and play better in COD4 compared to bc2, i would choose bc2 in a heart beat, the overall experience takes
us fps war oaks to the next level.

I agree and disagree, while BC2 has a much better emphasis on team play I think that in the modern age small units of soldiers doing tactical missions (not shown in mw2) are used far more than an all out guns blazing attack on the enemy.

At the end of the day they both do a crappy job at portraying war in a sense, the emphases in on fun and not realism, I mean honestly where do you see a soldier running after a tank with a repair gun in the middle of a battle, or a medic running around with a defib? It has also been revealed that there is no such thing as an heartbeat sensor, sentry gun or semtex as shown in MW2.

Its basically down to personal preference really...
 
I am really beginning to like BC2. What fun to sit and camp at the back of the map and snipe....

Anyone who plays/ played cod4 with me knows that i can't camp and like to run around like a headless chicken with my mp5. This game has brought calmness to me.....

Small 5 to 6 man squads are the way modern elite forces operate and have done for almost a decade. There are still you frontal grunts but the real action happens deep behind enemy lines.

Actually a heart beat sensor prototype has been tested by US Spec Ops, Semtex grenades though exagirated in game are found and the sentry gun, their like drones or UAV's not autonamos(Spelling) but remote controlled.
 
Yes semtex does not exist like in mw2 but soldiers has improvised grenades for decades. The idea of semtex is a 3 seconds nade that does not roll. So some soldiers would put a putty like substance around the grenade to make it stop instead of rolling. Sentry guns do exist also but not in the sense shown in mw2.

You cant say BC2 is a more war orientated game cause honestly it just isnt. If you have 16 snipers like on rush on that on map(cant remember the name) but the attackers are coming down the mountain. You would instantly call in artillery and naval bombardment on that hillside. So lets just say BC2 has got its fantasy things just like mw2 that makes it brilliant in its own right. But a type of realistic war game it is not.

The mortars is just huge fun! When i am lekker camping, i just seek out an enemy building, tank etc and mortar the dinges out of them.
