Well a realistic war-game wouldn't be any fun, really. In a war the base will be bombed first, meaning you can't respawn (which in itself is unrealistic). The americans/russians will just nuke the harbour instead of fighting it out. So looking for realism in a game isn't really sensible, because it's all modified and altered so that the players can have fun.
Which BC2 does the best.
 
I keen on buying BC2 but just want to make sure of a few things beforehand. How much cap do the patches total now? And will I receive playable latencies on iGame servers using iBurst wireless? Seeing as my connection should be quite direct to iGame. Speed test on our connection midday are about 480kbps d/s and 190kbps u/s.
 
I'm using iBurst Wireless for BC2 on Xbox over Xbox LIVE, which uses international servers, and it's perfectly playable. Your pings on local servers should be fine.
 
So what did we think of the new DLC? Although it wasn't really DLC in the sense of "Downloadable" content, more like unlocked content but still it was free so who can complain.

TBH i love the map (can't remember the name) where the enemy comes from the waters side in RUSH mode in the beginning. The one which is basically in a forest with what looks like an island. Played it last night the first time (was a lil lost) but enjoyed it quite a bit. Wonder which is the 2nd map they unlocked for RUSH. Then also which maps did they unlock for the other mode as i only played a lil last night...

What DLC? Haven't played in a few days ... is there a new patch or is it just a time-based unlocked feature?
 
Well it's no use I go buy the game today, still waiting on Telkom to setup our ADSL line. So I'm going to buy Mass Effect 2 for now and get BC2 later when we actually have ADSL. I really wanted to start playing this weekend. :(
 
as fun and awesome as it is. my gfx is letting me down.

1920x1080 with medium detail, no vsync, no aa no af and the damn 8800gt still drags the rest of my system to the pits...

this sucks, so until i can save up enough for a new gfx card i'm done playing for the time being
 
BC2 is more processor reliant. I got a GTX 275, running same details as you, but my cheap AMD x2 6000+ 3GHz is bottlenecking it.

i got a Phenom 2 955 Black Edition quad core @3.2ghz so it's definately not my cpu...

Agreed. I've got a PC with a quad core (Q6600, one of the first quads on the market) and a ATI X1950XT graphics card that runs BC2 butter smooth at 1680x1050 almost maxxed out.
 
Guys my clan entered the BC2 league and we do have 30 members in the clan but only 8 plays BC2. And we need 16 players to effectively compete in the league. So if your interested pm me. And guys it doesnt matter if your good or not its a team game so everyone is welcome.
