Does anyone have any recommendations for the "bargain bin" games you can find pretty much everywhere? I let my daughter pick out one that she liked the look of, but she hasn't played it in a long time because it's pretty much unplayable. (A big factor is that the on-screen text size is WAY too small and barely legible.)

For a young girl gamer I recommend most of the games based on Pixar/Disney movies like Bolt, Cars, Up etc

Sorry. Guess I should have mentioned the console. It's Wii, and the game was some Pokemon knockoff with fighting monsters. Can't recall the name.
Yeah, the vacuum tube type. We've had the TV for years. Don't have the money for a newer TV (not that we really need one).

That is why you can't read the text. Sell that tv and wait for the next special from Game you can normally pick up one for R2200 32" that's HD.
Can't really help with games on the Wii perhaps do a search on youtube for good/great wii games/titles.
Unfortunately, that's not going to be able to happen any time soon with this wonderful economy and job environment the U.S is currently under. Wheeeeee!
